Absolutely fuck Ryan Adams. What a fucking bore, as well as a shit-bag.
I have a colleague who is a super-strong feminist musician, but she's also a hard core obsessive Ryan Adams fan. I haven't seen her in the office today, hope she's okay.

Of course the Shiteville page is gone. Shites can barely talk about "Sussudio" without coming to blows.

"some woman... with a low cut dress that has a huge butt crack on her chest"
This is my ultimate fantasy, too.

Not Insane is fucking insane:
"I said I wouldn't post on the subject of the thread, but I will make a comment on that one:
I'm a fan of the american "old west". Back in the 1800's in the old west, a girl that passed age 17 without getting married was practically considered a spinster. Our western civilization sensibilities of seeing 18 as the sexual age of accountability is a very new thing. I believe the line in the past, with most cultures, was not age, but "puberty", whenever it happened.
This is why I don't consider men who are attracted to post-pubescent, but young, girls to be pedophiles. It's not that I justify their behavior. Far from it. I just don't think that label applies. But it is a cultural thing."
Rasputin likes this.

Somehow the guys with that "rule" are exactly the kind of creepy fugs that no woman would ever want to be seen with anyway.

The lead actress on the most popular drama on network television is lying about the guy known for covering the entire “1989” album so she can become famous.

Ryan Adams in troubleSo he's a womanizing leech, and he's controlling and manipulative. I've seen a lot of guys like that in my life. I would stay far away from him if I were a woman. Don't date him. Don't believe his career promises. But beyond that...(shrugs). He didn't physically assault anyone. He didn't drug anyone. He's just a womanizer who (supposedly) turned vengeful when his advances were spurred. I ain't like him, and I wouldn't want my daughter involved with him. But I assure you there are a zillion more like him in music and elsewhere. He doesn't seem like a nice guy. But I'm not sure why the Times decided to take him out and shoot him today. And I don't care much about his music. I'm not interested in defending him because his art is that important to me--it's not. Did you miss the part about sexting with a 14 year old or are you just ignoring it because it wasn’t a physical relationship so it’s no biggie to you? Along with the part where she repeatedly told him she was older. I wouldn't mess with anyone double digits younger than me...But if she said she was of age and he never met her...Are you now going to say because she mislead him that he's the one at fault for not knowing? I don't want to get in a position of defending Adams. He seems like a scum when it comes to women. But I don't read this as Ryans knowingly pursuing underage girls. Maybe he did that, too. And in that case, I'd say you have something far more serious and actionable. But so far, this is a bunch of women who got badly treated by Adams including one who was underage but who lied about her age and never met Adams...and that's about where it ends. The New York Times is garbage. A musician (or businessman) should be free to say "Sleep with me and I'll help you with your career." Women (or men) should be free to evaluate the offer and decide if the risk is worth the potential reward. It is by no means an altruistic system. It's basically capitalism in sexual form. If the person in power continues to put pressure on a person who says "No thanks", then a line is crossed. As for the casting couch analogy, there is a difference between "Sleep with me and I'll help your career" and "If you don't sleep with me, I'll ruin your career". I think the former statement is justifiable while the latter statement is a criminal act. Maybe there's a fine line between those two scenarios, but I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt towards a free market approach. Let Ryan Adams be a d-bag (but also let the world know that he is a d-bag). The market will decide if it's worth the risk to sleep with him. 'It takes two to tango' or 'texto' in this day and age. He's a creep dude, and why are young girls talking to dude's like this? Girls are equally at fault, they can keep they're clothes on you know.... Are you serious or just trolling? Asking for a friend. Maybe he’s not read up on the liberal feminism manifest yet? So being upset about the sexual exploitation of children is just for liberal feminists? Got it. Your angry male contrarianism is so cute, man. Just wait a little longer, people will come to their senses and the 1950s will be back soon. You’ll be able to shoot your mouth off as much as you like with no consequences guys! Awesome!! I haven't read any of this thread but I can tell you that this news is so old, it's YEARS old. Ask your wife, or girlfriend, or daughter, or any other woman you hold dear to read the Times article. Then discuss it with them. Ask them what they think, ask them if they believe the women (and why), and ask them about their own experiences with sexual harassment, inappropriate and unwanted sexual advances, expectations of a quid pro quo for sex, and sexual assault. & if ones wife is a conservative who is not easily triggered, with high morals, who believes in womens strength to say no to ”men in power”. Should one still ask? Absolutely. This isn't about being triggered. It's about having a discussion and possibly learning something. That goes for everyone, regardless of their ideology. And I guarantee you know a woman who has been subjected to at least one of the things I've mentioned. She said these cases should be settled in court, not by easily triggered leftists on a music forum!!?? Now i dont now what to think!!! Divorce her?? Not wanting women and girls to raped or Exploited by men in power is not “leftist.” It has less than nothing to do with politics. But your provocations are so edgy and brave. Keep em coming!! He obviously had suspicions she was underage because he supposedly kept asking about it. He was worried about it... If she had told the truth he probably world have ghosted her. So what you're saying is: don't listen to the woman? And perhaps no doesn't mean no? Where does that line of reasoning stop? The 14 year old girl really should have gotten the memo from the person in power about transactional nature of sex that he decided on when he Skyped her naked I guess. Her bad. Outrage machine cranking down... The most mature thing you've said so far in this thread. Shouldn’t you be on the incel forum? If it were newsworthy every time someone famous did something that conflicted with my personal morality, they world need to publish a new issue of the Times hourly. The point is that it's not newsworthy. I don't support a 40 year old guy fishing in the youngster pond, nor a youngster hooking up with a 40 year old guy, but there are all sorts. Unless you can demonstrate that he was sending her pics of his junk after he KNEW she was underage, this is between them. Personally, I'm not going to stop patronizing a business just because the owner treats sex as a transaction and avails himself of his opportunities. First of all....I think the NY Times article is morally wrong. It reveals a lot of personal stuff and is full of accusations, without even knowing if RA did something illegal. How about leaving judging to the courthouse? Second, RA has issues, in a clinical way, thats well known. I fell sorry for him. The image drawn seems a bit bipolar to me. Thats a serious, self-destructive illness. That does not excuse anything, but you should keep that in mind before you pack out your enraged citizen mentality. And art is art, the artist is the artist, I can laugh about Louis CK and I love RAs music, if you can not do so, I can understand that, but to me this always seems a little narrow minded. And when it comes to Phoebe Bridgers...bit of a hypocrite, taking the deal (at a point where she knew how RA behaved, as she describes it) and then accusing someone of morally wrong behaviour, well .......(and this has nothing to do with trying to justify misusing power). And last but not least saying that Mandy Moore is not "a real musician" is just a fact and not psychological abuse, right? Clearly I'm not “happy” about Adams being involved with a 14-year-old in any way but he doesn't seem to have been looking for an underage girl from what we know so far. He may have been titillated by the idea that she might have been, say, “barely legal” (and I question the common sense of sending a naked photo to a fan of any age) but that seems to be what people (including and perhaps especially underage girls) do at the least prompting these days. I don't see it as a career-destroying mistake. The real victim in all this is Bryan, this could be potentially damaging for his career also. Even if it’s well researched, does this belong in a newspaper article? These articles that want to appear like they fight for women and against abuse of power when all they really are is voyeuristic and inhuman really disgust me. People calling other people perverted are often perverted themselves, I think I read a study about that somewhere. Or was that something from the Bible, I really can’t remember. So you would be OK with it if your mother, wife, daughter or sister have to have sex with their manager in order to advance in their careers. Really? That's OK with you? I really can't believe that. Those of you who think Adams behavior is ok, please post affirmatively that it would be OK with you if your family member was on the receiving end of such reprehensible treatment. I would definately not blame the manager. I would blame poor parenting on my part. Humans gonna be humans, and they are sexual animals and all that that implies. Times change. People don't. The current dominant culture has forgotten that but reality will force it to relearn this, given time. I've noticed that next on the chopping block is female sexuality. For a while now everybody has been talking about misogyny, but there is more and more talk lately about misandry. And the modern answer to stage four feminism is MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way). Both are caustic. Ryan is worth more than her, according to celebrity net worth. Ryan Adams: 12 million Mandy Moore: 10 million This thread is in trouble. Closed.

The NYT has had the reputation within the industry of having bias and opinion in their stories for decades. I graduated with a journalism degree from what I consider an excellent school, and there are classes on bias. Many days and assignments were dedicated to NYT bias . And I am another journalism student from a top school that also learned the same information. But it doesn't matter what those of us that actually have more relevant information say, some people just choose to believe what they believe. How about not making this thread about moral judgements!? It is not sure RA has knowingly committed any crime. And he has always been a f*** up and a weirdo, so do not act so surprised, overemotional and self-righteous. I am looking forward to listening to the new records and really hope they get released, cause they damn sure will be fantastic. It just amazes me, the lengths people will go to, discrediting sources and victims, so they can listen to this *********'s hopelessly dirivative, mediocre tripe, with a clear conscience. Yeah hunting people puplicly is the height of human evolution, congrats. I'll still listen to his stuff and won't worry about it too much, if at all. And I bet his music is better than whatever derivative, mediocre tripe you listen to and think its original (maybe, maybe not but your comment is insulting to his listeners who are actually on this forum, thought you might like to know how it feels). If I stopped listening to every artist's output who took a position or did something that I found objectionable then it would be difficult to keep my record collection. Seriously...just listen to "After the Gold Rush", rather than a pale, fat-faced imitation, or anything of else of substance. Massively ironic considering who you have as your avatar. Yeah...he was certainly a POS, and I certainly not defend his actions. It was merely a drawing I did for my deceased father. It looks a very good drawing. :targettiphat:

I think I read a study about that somewhere. Or was that something from the Bible, I really can’t remember. That's a Hall of SHame post if I ever saw one. That’s a Garnts worthy poat. And STeVE probably thinks they’re talking about Kim Fowley. Also Totally Insane, after his earlier poat saying men can’t help but gawk (and probably worse) at women and the follow up quoted above, he probably should have a “no being alone with a female” rule with his spouse.
