PAUL McCARTNEY TO RELEASE ALL-NEW DOUBLE A-SIDE SINGLE 'I DON’T KNOW'/'COME ON TO ME' To refresh everyone's memory, here's what Denny Seiwell had to say about "I Don't Know" last year. And I just was given permission to reprint this interview with Denny Seiwell: Interviewer: "So Denny, you have heard a new song by Paul. Correct?" Denny S: "I Don't Know." Interviewer: "Hmmm. But didn't you hear a new song by Paul?" Denny S: "I Don't Know." Interviewer: "Well, do you recall if it was an excellent song?" Denny S: "I Don't Know." Interviewer: "And how were Paul's vocals?" Denny S: "I Don't Know." Did you review it? How was it? I Don't Know! This is going to be the new Macca running gag since New I could picture if this were a physical release tomorrow... Me, to record store clerk: "Pardon me, do you have Paul McCartney's latest single?" Clerk: "I Don't Know"? Me: "Can you please check? It was supposed to be out today." Clerk: "I Don't Know"? Me, looking annoyed at clerk, walks out of record shop in a huff, purpose in mind to get home and complain on the Forum! Thus a sales and marketing disaster is born. And I can picture the moment Paul first showed off his new songs. Paul's manager: So Paul, what's the new single called? Paul: I Don't Know. Paul's manager: What? Paul: I Don't Know. Paul's manager: You must have a name for your new single. Paul: I Don't Know. Paul's manager: I give up. You said it's a double A-side. What's the other side called? Paul: Come On To Me. Paul's manager: That's disgusting. You can promote your new single yourself. I Don't Know is on 3rd. I can see, come this fall... Me: "Excuse me, do you have the new Paul McCartney album?" Clerk: "Yes, I think was have a copy of NEW by Paul McCartney." Me: "No, not NEW. The new album by Paul McCartney." Clerk: "You aren't going to complain about me on that forum again, are you?" Better than the 2013 conversation. Do you have Paul McCartney's new album? Yes. What is it called? Its new. Yes I know, but what is it called. Its new. There should be a poll on which song people prefer once they're released. "Which song is your favourite?" A. Come On To Me B. I Don't Know C. I don't know Clerk: Do you know any of the songs in the album? Me: I Don’t Know Clerk: Well how can I help you then? ***and scene***

It would work better with the general audience if the song was named “I Don’t Give a Fuck”.

It would work better with the general audience if the song was named “I Don’t Give a Fuck”. In McCartney's case that would be "I Don't Give A Fook". He is a Scouser, after all. It'll be another new album by an old artist I'll listen to about twice, maybe, before forgetting all about it. I liked New, but I haven't had the urge or inclination to listen to the goddamn thing in about three years...

The two new ones are not bad and Kurstin is another producer not afraid to tell McCartney to go fuck himself. The guy has a resume a mile long.

The two new songs are alright, I suppose, but Paul's shaky old man voice is a bit sad to hear. A song like "Early Days" was one thing, over the course of an entire album is another thing altogether.
