Normal service is resumed: "I could not agree with you more! It is the most disappointing aspect of his solo career for me that he did not tour between 1979 and 1989..."

I completely agree; this is a pointless remix that just stops me from enjoying the song at all.

It didn't take very long after registering at the Hoffman boards to encounter this painfully tedious cunt. He's the very definition of a Wiki Warrior, and the kind of ridiculous McCartney superfan that thinks every fragment of song he's shat out is manna from the heavens. I mean, I have an appreciation for McCartney's solo work, but with this guy - and others on there - it's utter blind unquestioning devotion, and people like that just aren't much fun to discuss anything with.

He's still agreeing: "I agree with the comments so far regarding 'Goodnight Vienna"...that it's a pile of shit, like the rest of his solo career? Wiki Wanker.

You do have to admit that the resemblance to a penis is uncanny.
This one?

Looks like Kenny Bania as Gordon Gekko in Wall Street.

theMess has had a shit couple of months. The McCartney/Wings live box set possibly to the rescue:
"Unfortunately that is exactly why, it has been a very tough year and the boxset is the best way I have to raise money, hopefully quite quickly (my father was ripped off by his boss who fled and asset stripped the company he ran, and my mother had a stroke, brain aneurism and kidney transplant). I saw how much they were selling for, some for $2000.00, so I just settled for a middle price to start with and thought the forum would probably be the best place to advertise it.
Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it."

That's just what I was thinking; she seemed to be a big punk fan, started dating a punk singer, and Paul is on record as like the Sex Pistols whilst he also dabbled with a few punk and new wave influenced songs. I definitely think he would have known of them. theMess, Today at 3:48 PM#241

Still in agreement:
I couldn’t agree more. I have to make the obvious comparison here to a writer probably loved more than any other by most on this forum who can write beautiful, elegant and powerful ballads that emotionally resonate one minute and lightweight pure pop the next; Paul McCartney. It’s a disgrace that Parachute Woman and others have had to defend Taylor Swift as an artist so often in this thread. It’s fine to dislike this album or to criticise her work but to claim that she isn’t actually majorly responsible for her work is a disgrace, and no different than saying that Paul McCartney doesn’t write his own songs because he also shares credits with many other writers and producers. It’s straight up sexism again Taylor and it shouldn’t be allowed here; she is 15 years into a hugely successful and record breaking career, her genuine abilities are proven beyond doubt time and time again and have been for many years.
This thread should be about this album, not about having to justify Taylor’s artistry. Ironically one listen to this album alone does just that; I think it’s the most beautiful album I’ve heard in many years.
The bigots who drove Parachute Woman away should be ashamed. theMess, Jul 30, 2020
I couldn’t agree more - three Fab albums in a row, each with their own sound and feel, and this might be the best yet.

What a perfect comment Rob, I couldn’t agree with you more, that’s an absolutely perfect summary. It made complete sense from a marketing point of view, but it does rather throw “OTG” and “FITD” under the bus and doesn’t take into account their general commercial and critical successes.
It should also be pointed out that some of the greatest songs on the “Flaming Pie” album were written before the Anthology project. Some of the songs on the album seem to have originated from the same writing sessions that led to “OTG”.
My personal belief is that “OTG” would be a better album had it been produced and recorded more like the album that came before it or the album that came after it, with less input from the band. theMess, Sunday at 10:56 AM
