So Parachute Woman will not be landing on anyone tonight? She lasted about two years longer than I thought she would, given the amount of racism, sexism and misogyny that permeates that place.

She is still posting in the Wilco thread so he may be referring to one particular thread, if she leaves the average IQ takes a huge hit, even with the 50,000 plus members .

"I couldn’t agree with you more; Paul had so many potential directions to go in and was also concerned about his commercial fortunes and it led to some amazing material not being released on his studio albums. I completely agree about the amazing “Squid” and also rate songs like “Hanglide” - they do sound like the missing links between “McCartney 2” and his work as The Fireman with Youth.
I think a late 80’s electronic album including material like that could have been extremely worthwhile and interesting, even if it probably wouldn’t have been a commercial success."

I'm impressed, that's worse than the crap from Egypt Station.

There's so many terrible Macca albums, it's crazy.

Yep, but those cloth-eared Maccatards will continually try to convince us they are under-rated masterpieces which are well overdue for a re-evaluation.

There's something about McCartney's solo music that is distinctly unmusical -- like discordant notes, it's like I'm hard-wired to find his music unpleasant.
I wonder if he had a stroke in the 80s. Or maybe I did.

As usual:
"I couldn’t agree with you more, I am equally perplexed with this release. I actually don’t have any issues with the song selection and feel that “Steel And Glass” (a song I’ve always been especially fond of) does sound fantastic here, but so many of the other mixes just don’t work for me.
I can’t remember in the past any other release where I have had such confused feelings from song to song.
My biggest issue with the set is that it describes the mixes as “Ultimate Pile Of Shit”; it worries me that new listeners will never hear the original mixes and judge the songs on these mixes alone.
My final gripe is that I now have a headache. I find the drums to be far too high up in the mix in some of the softer songs, whilst something like “Nobody Told Me” seems to have had a lot of it’s sting removed." theMess, Sunday at 1:48 PM
