This new thread is classic SH.tv crapola forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/global-shortage-of-magnetic-tape-leaves-cassette-fans-reeling.711749/Yes, there is a "worldwide shortage" of cassette tape, or more likely, no one's manufactured any for 15 years and it's taken this long for anyone to notice/care. alexplop drones on about how these shitty tapes are "collectable" and so therefore far superior to downloads, while even other SHites look on in disbelief. Meanwhile, Cronverc spews out predictable "Digital is bad" horseshit. Then he has to rhapsodize about how "great" high-end cassette players were in his wet dreams. Cronverc, keep on 'tarding on.

$175 for a CD of Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert? The 6-song original, not the 14-track reissue? I dunno...seems kinda pricey to me. However, it is numbered edition #5; that's gotta be worth $150 right there...

If Clapton included a private guitar lesson (which would be like 5 minutes considering he has about 3 licks he plays over and over) I wouldn't pay it.

Well, I'm in for Reggae High-Fi at $49.99. I've been looking for a route into this obscure genre, and not only does Reggae High-Fi appeal to me with its authentically 'rasta' artwork, but it also features the top stars from reggae's acknowledged golden age, 1987-1989.

It's certainly out of my price range. But I can't blame them when they see their own products being flipped on eBay for sometimes double or triple the original price. I'd rather have those extra funds go to AF directly than some random flipper..... The exact opposite of what I am thinking. I have no real problem with flippers in general, be it house flippers, stock flippers, collectible flippers, whatever. It is just an efficiency of the market and it comes with a risk. I'd rather think ordinary citizens who need the money are benefiting from flips, not a company flipping itself.

I dunno, some SHites have their wallets out. America America was gone before I could snag it, but, I managed to grab Hemispheres. I wanted it. It was priced pretty similarly to what I’ve seen on Discogs and eBay. I bought it. Aside from the fact that America's albums are precisely the reason why "Greatest Hits" packages were invented, this guy is bummed because he wasn't quick enough to pull the trigger on this $80 disc. However, picking up Hemispheres for $110 more than made up for it. I wonder if Audio Fidelity has some stock boy working in the back for minimum wage? If they do, imagine if he came into work one day and the company was having a cash crunch (which does not seem entirely implausible). I wonder if the boss would tell him, "Sorry kid, we're low on cash. How about you just take this copy of Hemispheres as your pay for today, and we'll call it jake. You actually come out ahead".

The "vault" was probably someone's desk drawer that was being cleared out.

They are going to be offering some of the in-house archived titles they have collected since the beginning. Should be going up within a day. Some great titles. I took a peak and I saw the Jimmy Reed, the John Lee Hooker, Lightnin’ Hopkins…titles I have not seen in years. You make it sound like a gas, Daddy-o. I wanted to see how "great" the titles were that Hoofer recommends, but only one Hooker LP went up (sold for $60). Not an awful record in and of itself, but it is kind of a slap-dash grab bag of singles. In a world where Hooker's entire discography can be downloaded in lossless .flac from the Pirate Bay or similar places (Hooker's dead! He'll never miss the royalties) in under an hour, it is hard to justify even that purchase. So far, no Reed or Hopkins titles; someone at the office must have stuffed those in his pocket on the way out the door yeaterday. That History of the Grateful Dead, Vol. 1 for $125 though...that has my name on it, or it would if my name happened to be "Bear", which in all honesty, it is not.

That's my reaction to the cover art. One would usually expect such quality in a truck stop CD kiosk.
