normal people responses -
- don't know
- don't know and don't care
- seriously, who gives a fuck?
SHF response -
- 45 pages of unbelievably tedious bullshit
Not even going to bother quoting any of it. It's what you'd expect.
But I will point out Sondek has 90 posts in the thread so far. Naturally most of them are about Queen.

The Who are one of the bands I get my inner SHiite worked up over. I've seen them live 5 times, and I've met Daltrey and Townshend. To top it off, I'm 35. So I have seen all of these shows since 2006.
However-
I don't give a single flying fuck about how popular they are, are perceived to be or to get pulled into the jerking match of
"WHO IS BETTER THE WHO OR LED ZEPPELIN."
Holy fuck is that thread a piece of shit!

The “why” threads are the worst.

The premise of the thread is flawed. Full disclosure, my WhoShiteyness approaches Lukpac levels.

Why isn't my father as popular as Father Time?

I am into them enough to know that Lukpac (who may post here, I dunno) has got the knowledge on them, and is just about the only one over there whose input on The Who I'd care to listen to. Also: I met Roger Daltrey once and he was a prick.

Why isn't Roger Daltrey's trout farm as popular as Ian Anderson's salmon farm?

Trout is the more unforgiving fish to cook. Done well, it is outstanding.

I read too much of that mind-numbing thread, but I think I understand why The Who isn't that big anymore. It's because they are not Queen. Thanks Sanduck!

I think it’s because Roger Daltry lost his neck somewhere in the 90s so now his permed head just sits directly on his shoulders and his new dentures give him a hiss when he speaks. Overall, he’s a lot like my mate’s nan, and I think others must have made this connection too. My mate’s nan’s lovely, but she’s no classic rocker.

Queen fans might be getting close to Beatard territory. Their rabid defense of the band and failure to acknowledge the banality of much of their catalogue is mind numbing.
Look I saw them twice. Great live band. Great singles. But Freddie has almost become a saint. The new movie will probably not do much to slow his canonization.

I saw them 3 times, walked out of the last one at Wembley as soon as 'Hello, Mary Lou' started; fuck that shit!
