"Never once thought about dumping my tapes or any of my decks. I love cassettes for so many different reasons. First among them being convenience." -Guitarded

I hate tape. Sounds like crap and about s convenient as the procedure to get your car from an impound lot.

Pre-recorded cassettes had their time. They were portable, they were able to hold an album without all that weird rejiggering that 8-tracks required, they were great for the car, and easy to make dubs off of. And then CDs came out and rendered them obsolete. End of story.

No probs with cassettes, buddy.
Not that it matters to any of you, but, of all the recording media, tape delivers the deepest bass.
I got 200-300 live Grateful Dead concerts on tape. (Probs with Grateful Dead though.) Maybe 400 other tapes.

I get the feeling that the generic ProBoards avatard is what baggs actually looks like. Maybe the top of his head is a little narrower.

Doesn't like the Dead, has 200 - 300 live tapes. Yeah. I love collecting stuff from bands I don't like.

Cocksucker: it is like this.... Baggs does NOT collect anything he does not like. Baggs also is not a completist. When a band - say Tangerine Dream - goes clearly SUCK, then Baggs ignores (until, possibly said band gets back on the rails.)
The Grateful Dead tapes are an exception. Baggs got them gratis (along with Phish - for some reason these two bands go together for tapeheads). They were on good quality tape. I was told they were first-generation where possible and it must have been a serious collector cos he had every case type-writted, not scribbled, with the info.
Early (up to ,say '71) Dead, I can abide - also "Terrapin Station" was pretty good.
Baggs sold off two boxes (maybe 80 tapes each) - one to a van of hippies! - for a grand total of $80. Later "rodeo" shoite, natch.
Suck the donkey yarbloids, okay?
