Here's a good one to help debunk the Lennon tale upthread.
(Twin Peaks Black Lodge)
This is what it sounds like when you speak in reverse and then play it forward. There is no way Lennon could have nailed the backward vocal in real-time. It is phonetically impossible. I've always been interested in reverse movements and speech, so for Hoofy to try and lay that one out is pure stupidity. He is an absolute clapping seal.
No matter how hard you try, you're never going to nail backwards speech/singing to make it sound forward, and vice versa.

I’m sure a guy who brings up The Tokens is a huge Buzzcocks fan.

"This doesn't sound like I remember it." Of course it doesn't. This is what it sounds like after Hoofman boosted the mids, rolled off the treble and ran the whole thing through three layers of tubes.

Being the sociopath that he is, I'm willing to bet good money STEVE-O has made up all quotes in that thread himself. Well, maybe, except the one that said "too much bass".

I think that is the idea. Notice that almost none of the criticisms are actually criticisms of his work. He might as well have said, "And one really grumpy person complained that it sounded to good. They were hearing instruments they never heard before. It really pissed them off." Guffman on a job interview ( I know, right): HR: Could you tell us a couple of things about yourself that you consider flaws? Guffman: Mais oui! I work too hard sometimes. I am too detail oriented. And, often, I work so efficiently that my co-workers think I am trying to make them look bad. I'll try to work on that.

Wow, I didn't realize HR at McDonald's did the interviewing.

Jeffery_T Glenecho STeVe
Whenever someone puts STeVE in his place or corrects him on something, you can be sure that Hoofmeister is gonna respond with a big fat LIE in a vain attempt to restore his self-worth and public image. See also the Pete Shelley thread.

Sorry, aqua, I'm not inclined to be charitable. You'd think for someone always at the zeitgeist of pop history, there would have been some kind of mention of Hoofy working there. Even if I gave the benefit of the doubt, believing he worked there, he answered phones or delivered mail or something. 20 bucks says he is (once again) inflating his importance to inflate his ego (as usual). He's been caught in far too many bullshit stories for me to take it seriously at all. At ALL. I thought STeVe was working in radio in 1977? Well apparently he was at Capitol Records listening to original Beatles reels form Hollywood Bowl a “year” before even George Martin had them. (The album was released in 1977.). STeVe (Nov 16, 2002): Right before this STeVe added this (Nov 16, 2002): Sinatra on Vinyl - at my wit's end

You know what? I knew that. All my parents' albums were given to me when they "updated" in the late 90s. At that age, I didn't know better about the Beatles, so I thought it was weird they released an album in 1977 (figured out how that album came to be later). So I was gonna give Hoofy the benefit of the doubt.
But that was 7 months ago when I joined. I've read enough to know that every STEVE story could make my lawn nice and lush.
Such a storied life! Hob knobbing with the jet set, getting LA radio jobs sight unseen, exposing criminal enterprises, getting to hear Beatles tapes just as Sir George calls for them...this guy needs to play the lotto! Heh.
