The only references to MFSL on SHF appear to be ones that are factually stating online prices. There doesn't appear to be any discussion at all of it in the archives.

When Steve would remasturbate a title previously released by MoFi, or when MoFi would release a title previously available on DCC, you always had a few idiots, often led by Dave, who would make a comparison between the different versions and conclude that Daddy's one was the best by a landslide. The other ones always sounded muffled, or would lack the requisite warmth, even when they would come from lower generation sources.

STeVE could make an offline recording of a radio transmission of a scratchy needledrop sound better than a master tape done by someone else. He has the ears. He knows how to turn the knobs.

Meanwhile, all that Audio Fidelity could count on was the name of Steve Hoffman, his "breath of life" and a catalog that basically got the scrapes of what MoFi or Analogue Productions would work on. His shtick also appealed to boomers who were willing to buy for some serious money an umpteenth copy of some undistinguished soft rock release from the 70s, but didn't appeal to the younger generation who was into vinyl. When Marsha "retired" from the music industry, the address for Audio Fidelity was just some mailbox at a mall. MoFi is nothing like that. What do you think of Analogue Productions' work? I'm not sure if it's worth downloading their CCR CDs on my slow-as-shit internet.

Can't speak to everything AP puts out, but I'd avoid their A Love Supreme, which has an odd pause, at the end of one of the tracks and isn't worth the slow internet time. And I'd skip their Blue Note releases. You can check out the Steve vs. RVG discussion about particulars.

I have one of the CCRs,(used bin find), not bad, not exceptional. Try it if it's free, save the money if not.

Jesus the Hotline thread is starting to look like a remake of My Cousin Vinny.
Hoofy Said:
My first car was my dad's old 1962 Autumn Gold Chevy Impala SS 327. In the 19902-2000s I owned a 1966 Pontiac G.T.O. Fontaine Blue, 389. Last oldie I had (before the kids came) was a 1962 Buick Skylark, white with red interior with that imported engine made by MG in England. That was a beauty, only 30,000 original miles on it! Broke my heart to sell it.
Kevin Bresnahan replied:
Actually Steve, your 1962 Buick Skylark should have had an American-made aluminum block engine unless it was replaced at a later date. I bet it was blast to drive. Although it was a great engine, it got too expensive to manufacture so GM sold the design/manufacturing rights to Rover in 1963 and they continued to put it into Land Rovers & MGs for many decades. There's a story on it in it's Wiki page. Makes for a great read.

Yeah, the Pretenders original CD is just fine, get the Rhino 2 disc for the bonus stuff. If you have the ears you need a Target pressing. Wrong board, slick. This is the antiram dick sucking forum. You want the other place. Two up and then left.

More name dropping bullshit from the leader of the Vicodin Gang. Hooferman: That's ambiguous, was he adjusting Elton John or his microphone?
