So, I'm always on the lookout for a bargain in a musical instrument. I have many Martin guitars but my middle kiddo wants to learn some things. I mentioned this on Facebook and Wendy at www.glarrymusic.com reached out to me.
She sent me the Glarry GT-502 acoustic guitar. It's made out of spruce, it's 41", it has a Venetian cutaway, Rosewood fingerboard, comes with a gig bag, has a pickguard that you can apply if wanted and a wrench for adjusting the neck.
It's in the low 4's. No, not $4,000.00. Not $400.00. The low 4's. It's $42.79.
That's right, the guitar is no more than a meal at Chili's.
All well and good you ask, but does it work? What does it sound like?
I got mine yesterday, opened it up, tuned it up via the GUITAR TUNA app on my iPhone, and let it rip.
Sounds full, authoritative, ballsy and alive. I was a bit surprised. Didn't know what to expect for 43 bucks.
Just to be sure, I invited my singer/songwriter buddy over to give it a try. I casually asked him to play me a few of his tunes, didn't tell him about the guitar or the cost, I just handed it to him.
I got an hour concert and he loved the guitar. He really gave it a good pounding and it came through. He was very surprised when I told him the price. He's getting one of his own.
So, if you have wanted to try an acoustic guitar, if you want a practice guitar that is full size and sounds awesome, if you want a guitar to take camping with you or whatever, grab one of these babies! You won't be sorry.
I'm sure the Glarry electric guitars work fine as well, they are priced the same!

Oh, they also sent me something for my daughter, a Melodica. She can play along with WE CAN WORK IT OUT. You put the tube in your mouth and blow, playing the 37 keys. Sounds just like the Beatles! It's like $22.00. Make your dog start howling, amaze your friends! Comes with a carrying bag and other goodies.
