“Thanks dad, here’s the new album by that retro boy band with the singer who sounds like his nuts have a vise grip attached to them”

I've never heard Greta Van Fleet, and never intend to, but they have a home with some very familiar SHiTEs, and unsurprisingly, the 1.6 in Pitchfork (who can quite clearly see through the classic rock schtick) has caused tantrums aplenty. Mother goes for the jugular, and misses it by miles Probably the only time I'll ever agree with dmiller458: Let the hip-hop bashing commence! Peteham (shock horror, a man named after a dead loser from a sub-Beatard shithouse band doesn't like them blacks) Watching the barrel-scraping of terrible SHiTEs whinge at each other is great sport: A Saucerful Of Scarlets: Thievus (a miserable, joyless cunt): Then later (because a shitty band having success is just a great way to own the libs):

This picture alone is enough to make you wanna kill yourself. "Hey, pretend you're reading about classic rock geezers!"

Was that taken when they were children, or are they actually children?

Does he leave his 16y/o son chained to his bathroom sink? I'm confused. Also Pitchfork's takedown is a fair piece of criticism by someone who clearly spent time with the album in question. That much articulate rage doesn't come from skimming the damn thing.

“The Yankee peddler bargains with you on his way/Whoa sweet mama’s gotten herself a new dress.”
Is that an Rfreeman co-write?

Why the hell leave it in the bathroom instead of, oh say ... the kitchen table? “Here’s a gift, dad. I handled it after I wiped my ass - enjoy!”

I like this one from The Ringer. It fits 100% with the pathetic poat from sonofjim
"It used to be that the chief goal of rock ’n’ roll was to piss off mom and dad, now its greatest purpose is to pay them homage."

Oh fuck me, I'm no purist but a bunch of white guys badly Zepplinifying Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" is one of the most dunderheaded things I've heard in awhile. Thanks to this place and it's Father Time and Beagles links, it's not the worst thing I have heard, but I'm kind of amazed that cover is released by a major label.
That being said, watching the SHiTEs convince themselves Greta is the real deal is more fun than watching them convince themselves Egypt Station is s masterpiece.

Fuck me that is awful. The Neville Brothers version is fantastic but otherwise nobody should be covering that song. Especially these little fuckwads. Listen at your own risk:

I have a 2LP Sam Cooke set. On the inside gatefold there's a bunch of quotes by various rock-folk. Including Keith Richard, who says something like (from memory, I'm not pulling it out to check), "a lot of singers try to emulate Sam and most of them end up pumping gas."
Seems apropos here. That cover is terrible.

They’re from Frankenmuth? The tourist trap town in Michigan? I just looked them up - no wonder they’re pure shit, among other reasons why. They need to go back to shilling cheap Christmas ornaments at Santa’s Workshop there.
