On the 1st of August 2019, it will be 50 years since the Beatles were all in the same room together. Stereo Central have got to celebrate that date.

I wish Apple would have done a special Record Store Day release for Revolution in 2018, because other than Here Comes the Sun, I think Revolution is the biggest missed single in the Beatles catalog, and maybe giving John a real A-side in 68 would have helped things going into 69....but an RSD Revolution vinyl could be something like: Side A 1. Revolution (new mix) 2. Revolution 1 (new mix) 3. Revolution 9 (remastered) Side B 4. Revolution (original mono mix) 5. Revolution 1 (initial unreleased alt stereo mix) 6. Revolution (Take 20 - new stereo mix)

beatleroadie said: If the release is September (exactly 50 years), then the announcement will likely be June or July...Does that mean we may start getting solid rumblings/hints/leaks around May?
Usually when I have solid rumblings and leaks, it means I need to slow down on my cheese intake.

It's always nice to help when things are going into 69.

I think a compilation of outtakes from their psychedelic songs would be cool. Even if a few of them are repeated from the Pepper50 box... Take 12-14 session takes from their trippiest songs 1966-68, do half mashups and half straight-up remixes of the outtakes. Fly in some of the final vocals for a more finished sound. "Rain", "Love You To" and "Only a Northern Song" were not included on LOVE, so those are great candidates. . .I think the WA50 fast outtake of "Helter Skelter" and an alt-"Cry Baby Cry" could fit as late period, dark psych explorations, especially mashed up with other elements.... Include the 8-minute original length "It's All Too Much" and finally some shorter remix of "Carnival of Light" as the last two tracks. Call the album Carnival of Light, and release the remixed "Rain" as a 12" single with the original full length edition of "Carnival of Light" as the b-side. Side A Rain (remix) Rain (original stereo mix) Side B Carnival of Light

Increasingly my only joy in life is that "Carnival of Light" remains unreleased.

Congrats to beatleroadie for achieving a "mashup" of lunatic fantasy burbling about a Carnival of Light release with lunatic fantasy burbling about "flying in" vocal parts. Those used to be separate genres in the SHF Beatles lunatic fantasy burbling universe, but I suppose there's no stopping innovation.

I would piss myself laughing if it turned out that the multi of Carnival of Light was erased after being mixed in 1966. Nobody seems to know what happened to the mixdown tape after being played at the event.
Lewisohn described ofher wiped material based on contemporary paperwork without revealing he hadn't heard it. He also described material he had apparently heard so it was barely recognisable (eg Tomorrow Never Knows take 1, and What You're Doing take 11 (with the guitar solo "an octave higher". It was a major fourth.))
