I have no issue with banning it, principally because it's a fucking awful song that makes me cringe every single fucking time I have to endure it.
I'll also never develop a liking for Cerys Matthews primarily because of her version with Tom Jones. And also any recorded music she's ever made.

'Baby It's Cold Outside' pulled from radio station playlist*The PC demon strikes again ruining a good thing again. I thought it was a prank, but goodbye to a classic 1944 standard. What is wrong with this world and what do you think? There are plenty of songs that were written at a time when cultural norms were different that still get played today ("Under My Thumb," anyone?). There are also plenty of contemporary songs that get airplay 12 months out of the year (as opposed to one) with themes that are several degrees of magnitude more offensive than this one. If this is the way it's going, they may as well ban 'I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus'. A song about a woman cheating on her husband, and the child finds out. My sister once gave me a Christmas card about Santa having to walk through the snow to deliver the presents because Rudolf got all the other reindeer pregnant. Context...Context...Context. Take the norms of the time this song was written into context. Take the situation at hand into context when hearing the lyrics. This situation is a sad result of the terminally offended crowd bully tactics which seem to gain more and more favor each passing year. Let this person be offended by this song. Their type will be offended by most things because they are searching for things to be offended by. Do not alter your ways simply because they said something is offensive. Figure that out for yourself. If someone has to convince you you were offended, you probably were not offended in the first place. I am worn out with the current micro aggression, offended, triggered, safe space mentality. Some of life is offensive, most is not. Some people will be jerks, most will not. Some things are unfair, most is fair. Geez, Grant! Allow me to repeat. There is absolute ZERO indication of "force" in the lyrics of "Baby, It's Cold Outside." Strong attempts at persuasion, yes. But force? If you believe this is true, please quote the exact lyrics in which this "force" is present. There are hundreds (thousands) of songs, movies, TV shows that depict questionable behavior. In fact someone pointed out the other day that all the doctors on M*A*S*H were always drunk and harassing women yet still continued to operate. Oh and Madmen anyone? As a teenaged metal fan during the PMRC years I always wondered why actors got a pass for playing a murderer or an alcoholic while Ozzy wasn't allowed to sing about it. Because "art" gets a pass. Thus, prostitution is illegal in most places, yet porn actors get paid to have sex with strangers and it's hunky dory. But how much routine access was there on the part of the general public to Mickey Finns? Do you have any statistics on how many times such a potion was used in circumstances such as those described in the song back in the 1940s? Why would I have stats like that? You are entitled to your opinion. I have mine, and find it comical that anyone would find this song "demeaning" to women. Now some of the Gangster rap that refer to women as "Bitches," THAT'S DEMEANING. In my humble opinion. Question to those who agree with the ban: should we ban Jailhouse Rock? Why should anyone else able to decide what I should be allowed to listen to? Do you mean like how program directors have done since the invention of radio? P.S. The song is all over the place. Find it on YouTube and go crazy. Nobody should decide for you. That's why physical media is essential. So in the year 2025, when "Jingle Bells" is banned from radio and streaming or download for cruelty to horses, you won't have to worry because it will be in your collection. I recently heard a disturbing song--a woman was singing to her lover, begging him to beat her, saying she would be still as a lamb while he hit her; she said if he pulled out her hair and gouged out her eyes, she would respond by kissing his fingers... Pretty disgusting, eh? Probably should be banned. The song is the aria 'Batti, batti, o bel Masetto' from Mozart's Don Giovanni. The aria is sung flirtatiously/seductively with a heavy dose of irony, and it works as the upset lover's anger dissipates. But the point I'm trying to make is that judging just by the lyrics, it's pretty bad stuff--but context is everything. All my local stations have pulled that one from their playlists. Ban Frosty. Not inclusive of people who live in warmer climates. Did anyone even read what I was replying to? Dim bulb said: "I can easily imagine a victim of date-rape (or similar assault) hearing the song on the radio, or at an office party, and just being shocked into a horrible reminder of the circumstances. A rare occurrence that would happen, but definitely not mental trauma - no matter how slight - that I’d wish upon anyone." Her history shouldn't be able to dictate what I listen to. Dudley Morris likes this.So are all of you going to get rid of your Let It Bleed albums because of "Midnight Rambler"? Or Beggars Banquet because of "Stray Cat Blues"? How about "Stupid Girl"?!? That's true, all women are smart, mustn't offend anyone. At least they haven't banned "Lap dances are Better from Crying Strippers." To me, that's an untouchable Christmas classic.

If I could pick one Xmas song to ban it would surely be Macca’s wonderful Christmas time, on the grounds that it is an obnoxious piece of shit that was written to cash in on the holiday. Fuck poppy Christmas music, fuck that song, and fuck Paul McCartney

Bet these numbskulls weren't fussed when Mary Whitehouse was banning videos in the 80s.

I notice that they're up in arms when sexist lyrics by cuddly white folks like Frankie or Dean are threatened with a ban, but when it comes out of the mouth of, say, Wu Tang, they froth a the mouth at how degenerate and disgusting it is.
Now I wonder what factor could possibly be responsible for the diversity of opinion...?
