Are incandescent light bulbs a thing of the past?stocked up on 100 watt...they are long gone...IIRC the Incandescent bulbs 60W and under are halogen bulbs...the bulbs that many of us grew up with are long gone...I cannot stand any other than incandescent...I'm good...they're all over ebay so it's not like one can't find them if they want to pay the sharks price... So it isn't my imagination, the light from incandescent bulbs is actually better.. almost as if incandescent = analog, LED = digital? Really people. Take a breath. It's light bulbs. They may actually save you some money. breathing properly and that's still not going to get me to give up the lighting I love... We stocked up. Set for life. This LED light thing is like the introduction of CD. "Perfect light forever." Ha ha.

Why does this not surprise me? These losers probably still scrounge Goodwill stores for CRT TVs from the 1990s. The good ole tubey analog look. Nothing beats that while viewing their Laserdisc Players.

There are threads over there about that exactly.

Stupid me. Just spent $3000 at work putting in LED high bay lights in the atrium to replace the noisy, yellow and wasteful metal halide ones.

The Lighting I Love is one of those Peter and Gordon songs isn’t it?

This is so typically SHitey, I am surprised it has never come up before.
You know what is something I haven't done in about five years? Replaced a light bulb. I'm not even sure I still remember how to do it.
How many freakin' incandescent bulbs does Raunchnroll have to be "set for life"? Does he need a whole separate room to store them? Or is he an 80 year old living in a one room assisted living facility?

Who thinks like this? Seriously, who has time to even think of shit like this? I flip a switch, if there is no light I go to the garage and look and see what bulbs I have. If I don’t have any I go the store, and buy what they have. With these new lights I change a lot less often, they provide nice light, and are barely hot unlike the old style.
I wonder if M I C H A E L is one of those guys who had to go to the ER for getting a lightbulb stuck in his ass ......

Haven’t even switched to LED yet that home.

It's people in denial about things moving on. It's one thing to like old lightbulbs, old cars, or analog, and another to try and convince yourself that times and technology shouldn't change, and that the majority of people's new preferences are wrong.

And there was one before, at the time CFLs were the most common replacement. If I remember well, some of them put the blame on the then administration, even if the end of incandescent lightbulbs had actually been voted under Dubya and a Republican Congress.

I think the led bulbs are fine, but then again I don't have the eyes.

This is one of those rare occasions in which the glib answer actually is the correct one: if M*****l thinks something is a good idea, it truly is a horrible one.
It's also telling that Grant is a voice of reason in that thread.
