Completely unrelated, Vidiot very recently helped me get re-instated into a forum I got banned from for a pretty good reason (no, not Hoofy's.) He went out on a limb on my behalf and, considering he once blocked me at Hoffman's, was very kind for standing up for me. So there. Carry on.

I have some incredibly dull information to share but you'll have to wait a few months.

I worked on 3 different Dave Chappelle unsold pilots in the 1990s, and I kept raving to people, saying, "hey! This guy is really funny!" But the shows went nowhere. I was really glad for him in 2003 when Chapelle's Show finally took off on Comedy Central and became a fairly big hit.

Vidiot is turning into STeVe. Are we sure this isn’t “John Oteri” in disguise?

I got to know Rick Dees a bit when I did some work for him for a year or so around 2005, and he was a very funny, smart man. He absolutely intended "Disco Duck" to be a total goof, a complete satire, and was not making fun of disco per se or anybody in particular. It was just a nutty radio song, which many DJs did in the 1970s and 1980s. Rick was also quick to point out that because he wrote and produced the song, plus he sang the lead vocals (except for the duck) and owned all the publishing, he made $5 million dollars on the "Disco Duck" album in the summer of '75. I think we call this "laughing all the way to the bank."

Yeah, well...I got to talk to one of Ryan Seacrest's interns for 22 seconds back in 2009. I guess I know Seacrest casually, too. Beat that, vidiot.

I think this might be my favorite thread here. Well, aside from all the ones that call out STEVe for being a twat, of course.

The guy who was quacking was Ken Pruitt (one of his sidekicks on WMPS in Memphis), doing an impression of Yakky Doodle from the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons. I decided not to ask Rick if he paid his sidekicks any share of the millions that "Disco Duck" made...

I've noticed Lea aged incredibly well by any standards. She still looks like herself too, so it seems more like good aging than cosmetic procedures. She's had a little work done: Lea turns 60 this week. Very nice lady, very talented performer, total pro -- I worked on Caroline in the City for several years. Great lighting, great makeup, and a little nip & tuck can help immensely.
