Imagine your legacy is you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time than drive 400 miles to see bands you've seen 20 times and posting on internet forums.
What's more is that they aren't even gigs in the traditional sense of groups of musicians responding to the environment and creating music of the moment. He is not going to see jazz improvisors or Acid Mothers Temple or even Bob Dylan. Colin follows these highly staged and choreographed clockwork lip-synced special effects rallies that are by design completely devoid of spontaneity and the accidental. What is even the point of seeing something like that more than once? It is going to be the exact same thing when it moves over to the next city. What is the appeal for Colin? The *bragging rights*? Jesus, what a jerk.
Oatsdead goes to so many concerts I have to wonder if, in addition to pirating DVDs, he's a bootlegger as well. Does he record any of this multitude of Springsteen or Madonna shows he attends? It would make a lot of sense if he's going to all these shows because he's recording them all and then selling the audio/video to the highest bidder at {enter name of Japanese bootleg company here}... I put the smug little prick on ignore a long time ago. He seemed alright at first, then I read about his exploits after I joined here, and, like with everything else related to Hoffman's shitty forum once I became a member at Stereo Central, that's when my attitude changed.

Shit, that would make a lot of sense. Right?! If I were a betting man, which I'm not, I'd put down good money that Colin is not only a concert taper (fortunately he's into artists I mostly can't stand otherwise I'd probably have a few of his recordings in my collection) but that he's made a pretty penny off his recordings over the years as well. Again: nobody goes to multiple shows on tours, tour after tour, unless they are a dangerously obsessed fan or a taper. I bet Oatie is both in some cases but as someone who knows a thing or two about live music trading and shit like that, my Spidey Senses tell me he's bootlegger for fuckin' sure. I should nose around on Trader's Den and Dime and find out...some of Springsteen's stuff I can at least tolerate, so I'll start there. I just have to remember where the fuck the ol' dogfucker is from and some of those concerts he's always prattling on about...you mean I have to take him off ignore? It'll be worth it if I happen to be right, which I think I am...

If he's as prolific as I think he is, he's presumably using gear a bit fancier than a fuckin' Gameboy...I've started digging, and THIS is as good a poat as any to quote: That's from August 15 of last year. 1000 concerts...that seems like a lot to me, Deadheads possibly excepted... And here are his stats...I want to find out WHERE he saw all these fuckin' shows, and when:

To go to multiple shows on single tours though, that's just madness (and dick-swinging), unless they're known for changing their setlists a lot and even then, most of them have core songs they always play in the same place in the set. The most I've ever seen a single band/artist is probably about 10 and that's over many years.

The accumulated tedium of this guy’s life, and the amount of self-satisfaction he seems to derive from boasting about it, elevates him to a level of depressing bleakness that few other SHites can hope to achieve. (KeithH during his championship seasons was right up there, too.)

Internet date - "So Colin, are you into music ?" Oatsdead - "Yeah. I'm especially into The Spice Girls, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Katy Perry, One Direction.....have all their albums and CD singles. Saw Gaga 23 times last year" Internet date - "Uh huh. You like going to concerts then." Oatsdad - "Oh yeah. I've seen Madonna 65 times, Bruce Springteen 87 times, Britney Spears 43 times, Emma Bunton 19 times, Katy Perry 28 times, Geri Halliwell 36 times..........hey where are you going ?"

I think Oastsdad is at his most annoying in his "signature song" threads. It's a stupid concept to begin with because for most artists it's impossible to say...and who cares anyway? But okay. Fine. Let's talk signature songs, Oats. Whatever.
But then what he does is he'll pick an artist or band he knows nothing about and then nitpick every choice and argue about songs he doesn't even fucking know!

I wish he would just come out already. Dude, it's 2020. Embrace your gayness.

The bootlegging theory makes sense, that income could be used on Vet bills for prolonging the lives of his suffering pets.
