Given that they have Jackson on board maybe they can go half way back to the earlier idea for the Beatles last UA film and have the Beatles spoken and sung lines from the film come out of the mouths of CGI hobbits and wizards. Maybe an image of Shelob for Yoko. It could brighten the mood considerably. Imagine Frodo telling Sauron to Get Back to Mordor before traveling the Long And Winding Road home to the Shire. That’s got to be a fake quote. He didn’t plug the Beagles Tribute to Hour 34 of the Twickenham Tapes.

I want it on the record: Let It Be sucks donkey cock. The title track is okay, but the best song didn't even make the album. When are they gonna learn, you can't please these assholes? They could get a hand job from Lennon's ghost and be pissed he didn't use the right lotion. Fuck 'em.

They could get a hand job from Lennon's ghost and be pissed he didn't use the right lotion. Fuck 'em. The album is almost glorious compared to the boring as fuck noodling they did for most of it. The talking and arguing is boring as fuck. McCartney sounds like a lunatic with his rambling bullshit. Harrison is bored shitless. Lennon doesn’t give a fuck. Ringo is Ringo. I will never understand Beatards infatuation with this garbage period of their career.

The Get Back/Let It Be material is irredeemable. No matter how much they attempt to edit and/or sonically manipulate it, it all just plain sucks. Have you ever heard that original (pre-Spector) Glyn Johns version of the album? It is the most dreary and joyless thing imaginable. Not that the subsequent attempts to dress it up are any better. The songs are terrible; the performances are even worse. It's just an oppressive sense of no one wanting to be there, doing this — except for a coked-up McCartney, who deep down knows that the sessions are a total disaster, but nonetheless proceeds to compound the suck by over-compensating while riding his ego-driven cocaine cloud.
And I want this on the record as well: the rooftop concert is also dreary, amateur hour bullshit. If it wasn't THE BEATLES! no one would want to remember or care about it. Beatards believe that the band ought to be given a medal for being (barely) able to lazily slog their way through a handful of songs for 30 minutes. Big fucking deal. Never mind that it sounds like shit. Why listen to another band who are eager to play and can actually pull it off? Because it's THE BEATLES!
After all of the other groups that catch hell for being in that period of their career, if anyone else would have put out an album like that, they would get crucified. An album that's mostly snippets and dialogue, members don't give a shit, at least one has his foot out the door, and all those self-described critics over there would have a fucking fit. But hey, it's the Beatles. I like the Beatles, but for Christ's sake, even I can recognize it's a turd. Apple could release Macca struggling to push out a shit and there would be bitching about the stereo separation on the grunts. They want more, they get it, and they bitch. And then here comes STEVE to claim he helped wipe Macca's ass after lunch that day. I saw a poster the other day say "These threads are so predictable", and I couldn't think of anything more apropos to describe that forum.

Can anyone recap the highlights, of what we actually know. Regarding a new Peter Jackson Let It Be Film, & ( hopefully ) what we know or expect from a new Beatles album linked to the new film. ie: previously unheard songs-music. It would be my hope, that they would splice pieces of multiple takes together, & improve sonics, fix pitch & tempo issues etc, create stereo, of songs we've only heard with crappy fidelity, & usually incomplete at that....& also true outtakes like Peggy Sue Got Married. & I hope they take songs like ( as examples ) Suzy Parker & I Lost My Little Girl & All Things Must Pass & turn them into, listenable, in tune, complete stereo recordings, improving or fixing complete arrangements, pitch, flams, squeaks & squelches, & reverb , compression, demixing, remixing, whatever makes it sound good... Of course my fear & expectation is, they won't do any, or very little of the type of stuff I just described.....I feel at least 15-20 good sounding originals & covers could be culled & put together, easily an albums worth...probably a lot more...BECAUSE..they have several takes of many tunes never released or polished, & a lot of pitch tuning issues, fragmented performances, lousy sound, non stereo...demixed-remixed...all can be fixed , imo... So like I said like past releases, lots of hype, but no good stuff, or not much.. I will definitely watch the new film when its available & own a copy if possible....but the bigger carrot imo, is the untapped goldmine of 50-100 covers & originals that could be edited & mixed into something special. Not even discussing the actual songs on the album...they could do the "definitive" mix or version of the Let It Be tunes...But its what they could do with the other 80 songs that would be interesting. Right you are..However, let's take your example...of a Beatles All Things Must Pass..as far as audio goes, there are at least 'several' Nagra & or similar recorded rehearsal takes, as well as a couple detailed Harrison-Beatle era Abbey Road demos...so what this means hypothetically for discussion sake....it is multitrack, before even resorting to fancy spectral editing. De-mixing-re-mixing...Two nagra recordings of the same take, would give at least a partial 2 track stereo image, & flying in pieces of additional takes, give you doubled lead or backround vocals, guitar solo's, or rhythm guitar or whatever...you could do an awful lot , with that particular song, because there are at least several Beatles takes, plus guitar & vocal demos on their own tracks...you can adjust pitch & timing, add effects, get stereo, double things, make it into a record. In fact there are fan made "constructed" versions that are 85-90% of a finished sounding 'lost Beatle track" you could probably do this with dozens of the songs..anyway they won't do anything cool like that.

I can tell I’m inured to his nonsensical ‘flying in’ bullshit because I was most irritated by the apostrophe in “solo’s”.

Disney presents: Get Back SHITE hat on: I actually wanna go see this new version when it hits theaters. I didn't bother with the Imagine thing when it had a run. And I almost went to see Rock N Roll Circus last year (a screening with Michael Lindsay-Hogg doing a q&a after) but decided against when I realized I'd be spending money to see that nonsense. But this I'll go see. I'll even drag my sister along, a newly minted Beatles fan. She's even gonna sing With A Little Help From My Friends for her vocal class. She's not the best singer (and they don't seem to be teaching much in this class either...) but she should be able to handle a Ringo number. It wasn't even my suggestion! I was pitching What'll I Do and a few other standards that she's familiar with.

Too bad you missed seeing Taj Mahal’s one song in the movie: I admit I was fascinated by seeing Mick looking so young and hot, but Taj Mahal’s performance is what I remember enjoying the most. (I bought the laserdisc when the film was first released in the mid-1990s, but haven’t watched it since that time.)
