Peter Jackson just put out a teaser for his upcoming movie.
The film actually makes the Get Back sessions seem light and fun – not the turgid mess every bootleg sounds like (Revisionist? Perhaps. But, I could sit through this and enjoy it – something I can’t do with Get Back boots.)
What nits will the SHites pick? Only time will tell.

^^^ The ShiTes will no doubt:
-Claim the wrong mix was used -The mastering is brickwalled and does not feature daddy's breath of death magic midrange -Not enough/varied shots of Yoko or her muff -The colors are off -Admonish others opinions because their gear profiles are not filled out -Declare a "hard pass" -Complain that no vinyl edition of the soundtrack has been announced -Express in no uncertain terms, "Sticking with my old bootlegs"

Another large contingent will tenaciously defend whatever comes out, if they purchased it. "Whatever I've most recently bought is the best" syndrome.

Obviously anything that gets put out is gonna have some angle. But there were plenty of genuinely light and even fun moments. The original film was approved by four guys who were bitter and upset over issues that went far beyond what happened in January of 69. 56 hours of footage, 90+ hours of audio, and the final cut couldn't even manage to fill an hour and a half with enjoyable content?
I'm looking forward to the new Jackson version. Depending on the state of the world, I'd even like to see it in a theater.

See "McCartney III Syndrome".
I guess if I spend $40 on something without even seeing / hearing it first, I'd force myself to like it too.

Is it technically possible to upgrade the Beatles so they are Hi - res, but Yoko remains in low res? Petulance does not require clarity.

Maybe Peter Jackson can do Altamont next, re-cut the Stones’ Gimme Shelter. Hey, only 1 guy out of 300,000 died, amiright? Most people were happy. It was a happy event, right? Actually 4 people died at the Altamont concert.

That is certainly good news as per the release schedule. But it is a bit unsettling that the film's description in the NY Times says: "Sir Peter Jackson revamps the legendary Beatles' Let It Be film by turning the Fab Four into hobbits. Highlights include rooftop fights with dragons, and unseen footage of the Beatles eating tandoori chicken dishes". Oh My! Lord of the Roofs! Not to be confused with the Cosby film Lord of the Roofies.

This movie could be coming out tomorrow and I wouldn't know because I avoid that thread. Also, is it strange that for all the Nazis, misogynists, and general fuckfaces over there, I may still hate Arnold Grove the most?

That's what I hated most about "Eight Days a Woke"... millions of people saw the Beatles perform live and all Opie Cunningham could find were two people and both of them talked about race? That was sooo. disappointing. You mean you weren't interested in hearing what renowned Beatles historian Whoopie Goldberg had to say. I think it's more the fact that this will be a one time showing of the movies on Disney+, at three specific dates, (one for each "episode") that will turn off the general public. Who would want to "block" three consecutive nights for a band they're not absolute fans of ? Televisually The Beatles are not an event here, especially on a relatively obscure (in the UK) and expensive streaming service. I also suspect that most of The Beatles demographic doesn't really do streaming. The BBC, national brodcast channels and easily available cable is already more than they need or can cope with. And yes, in the UK Disney + is relatively obscure and expensive in as much as it is not easy to find on most people's viewing equipment especially amongst older generations and is less ubiquitous than the BBC, Sky or even Netflix. I just think it would do better here on a higher profile and more easily accessible platform or by way of a theatrical/physical release. Disney + is pretty common over here. Lots I know subscribe to it along with multiple other streaming services. I read somewhere it's 3rd behind Amazon Prime in UK and is about to overtake Amazon Prime for global. Whereas nobody I know subscribes to it.They don't have smart TVs/boxes. They don't stream on PCs or portable equipment. For the most part they wouldn't even know how. I have no idea what is even on it. I am sure Disney has calculated that this will be profitable for them. That does not mean that this distribution model is not shutting out a large number of potential viewers who would have been interested if it was easier to see. Yes, I’m very aware of the fragments of future solo material they ran through in slapdash fashion in early 1969. I get that Jackson and Disney have a movie to hype and sell, but the claim that this was the most productive and constructive session in the band’s history is laughable. If such B.S. drives Disney+ subscriptions, good for them. And which “half,” exactly, of All Things Must Pass did they rehearse? Name the “half” of that album they “rehearsed” as a group. Perhaps if it had been a “constructive” session, they would have said, “Wow, George, that’s a good song, let’s record that together.” I feel like they pulled a 'bait and switch' on this one. The hype was originally for theaters. BUT...now you have to boost Disney+'s subscriber numbers in order to see this. It was a wise man who once said, 'Bite me'. I stream BritBox because they have content that interests me beyond one program. I only get Prime because I'm a member I just get it anyway. Otherwise, I have zero interest in adding another streaming service. For those of you that want to add to the subscribe/cancel churn of Disney+ streaming, good for you. Enjoy. Seriously. Disney+ has no interest for me and I don't plan to subscribe just for this. You said theaters when you hyped it, put it in theaters where the experience is different. I like that some folks thought that the two options of a theater cut and this Disney crap could co-exist. But no. I'll wait for the inevitable SUPER DUPER TROOPER DELUXE box set on blu-ray next year. But in the mean time, as I've mentioned.....bite me. Just to be clear, I have not said "obscure". I have said "relatively obscure". In comparison to the likes of the BBC, Sky or even Netflix, as I said earlier, to a certain demographic that might be interested in this film, Disney + is indeed relatively obscure. They don't know what it is. They don't know how to find it and they are hesitant to anything that involves subscription. I deal every day with people who cannot even work out how to use YouTube. They are old dogs uninterested in having to learn new tricks to access entertainment. Those of you who are disputing my point are I suspect somewhat younger and part of or even embracing the digital world and that is great. There are a sizeable number of people for whom that is not the case, in my experience in my part of the world. As far as I personally am concerned, I won't be subscribing to a further streaming service just to watch this but my fear is that its exclusive existence on a streaming service will preclude or seriously delay any physical release as it has for a number of other music documentaries on Netflix, Apple, Prime etc. They remain the exclusive outlets for those products. I didn't say they don't have portable equipment. I said they don't use it for streaming. A computer is a computer. A phone is a phone. A television is what you watch things on. Also, I am clearly not talking about me, though as I have said elsewhere I will not be subscribing. In my case though it is not because of money or technical hesitance. I just don't like the tactics. I think there would be better ways to distribute this material, which is where I started this debate. Clearly I am in the minority but I think the change of approach is a shame. I'll be seeing this because my niece and her husband have shared their Disney Plus login with me - completely valid by the way, family member logins come as part of the package.

I have Disney +. But this is definitely my least favourite period of the band. I don’t know if I can handle 6 hours of this crap.

6 hours sounds good but knew Disney would be an issue. Wake me up when it hits a physical format. They may be masters of distribution, but if I have to wait a year to see this then they have failed in my opinion. Bundling a Beatles project with the Disney catalogue and forcing me to subscribe to a channel I have little interest in for one item does not make me grateful at all. If I have to wait a few months after 50 years for a physical copy I will accept the downside of a Disney involvement. If it is a year or not at all then Apple have sold their sold to the devil in my humble opinion. I am happy to pay a premium price for the DVD or Blu-ray but I will be pretty annoyed if I have to sit there wondering if I will ever see the results of Peter Jackson's efforts. Hopefully the release schedule will be transparent from the outset. The Beatles are a big band. They should not be dictated to by corporations. Fans will be furious if they are locked out of this after decades of delay. I am in the UK. No idea how much it costs but that is not the point. If I wish to buy a rose I would not expect to have to buy the flower shop to do so. I know that is a somewhat extreme comparison but I have had to do this in the past and am not going to continue subscribing to networks I do not need just for one programme. I can see that it is a business issue for Disney but I do not have to agree with it. I have no wish to argue with those who are comfortable with this, that is their choice, but I would just like to be able buy it without contracts and cartoon animals. Disney have produced some excellent films, but they are not aimed at me. I would prefer to buy this in the knowledge that I can take it off the shelf when I want and not have to worry if I am still subscribed to the required service. You can call me old and set in my ways and unable to tackle modern technology if you wish, but that is the way it is for me. Hopefully one of the lads will agree with me and allow me see this piece of musical history while I am still able to do so!

Are you guys jumping the gun a little? "The doc will run on Disney+ over three nights on November 25, 26, and 27." Does it say anywhere that it's 6 hours (3 two hour parts)? From the quote above, how do you know it's not the same 2 hour documentary shown on only those three days?
