Yeah, the whole John Wesley Harding thread is funny because STeVE praised the '87 CD to high heaven while slamming the '03 remaster before it was pointed out that the '03 uses the original mix and the '87 was a remix, which totally goes against his usual original-mixes-only fetish. But I don't know why it was such a mystery that the thing had been remixed. I don't have "the ears" and I could tell right away that it wasn't the same mix. The instruments are in different places!

They all fall in line over there any thing that Hoffman endorses. Usually the disc he praises are forum favorites. This Dylan CD, Old 87 Beatles CDs, Cream etc. I don't think they listen to them just praise it because their "host" says it's superior sounding and faithful to the original mix.

You guys are simps. Daddy explained it clearly, the remix is closer to the original mix than the original mix. Why else would you do a remix? Yikes!

I remember when the Beatles remasters came out and people were praising them until someone asked STeVe his opinion. He gave a “cant say anything nice don’t say anything” type answer and immediately the praise turned to hatred for all things Giles Martin, Beatles remasters, etc. Which is funny when you consider how many years of begging and pleading for the Beatles to get remastered there was and when it happened how much hatred. Typical Hoofyville.

I never bothered to check. There's so much info out there about the other albums and where and when they were remixed (some remixed for the original CDs, some remixed for the 2000s, some remixed both times) that the fact that I never read anything about JWH being remixed just led me to not download a copy.
And for anyone looking for any and every copy of Bob on CD, this is the key search term "Bob Dylan - Discography (Дискография) - (Studio, Live, Compilation Albums & The Bootleg Series 1962-2017) - ( 69 albums, 180 issues, 202 CD)"

The entire city of Los Angeles is under curfew tonight. . Vandalism & looting isn’t protesting, it’s leveraging a tragic situation to one’s own criminal advantage. Sage wisdom from a man who was fired from MCA due to his own criminal activity, then giving safe harbor on his vanity website to white-supremacist assholes...

I remember him bragging how 'Forum member' Mark Wilder had found him all on the individual original masters over the course of half a year. But the songs on AF's BD's Greatest Hits from "Another Side of.." were also proven to be sourced from some old CD (they had no info above 18kHz). So "Well duh" is right, fucknuts. STeVE deserves extra props for this disc, considering his hearing is gone above 10khz.

If he’s a forum member why isn’t he showing up in any searches, or why does Hoofy need to copy and paste his response from another forum altogether? Hmmmmm. Are Older SONY Jazz SACD's Not Sourced From The Master Tapes?

Are Older SONY Jazz SACD's Not Sourced From The Master Tapes? Even in 2003, Steve realised how superfluous he was: “ Ed, these guys are not free-lancers, they are big corporate employees. They are not allowed to speak on internet Forums about their work. Think about it. They are not free agents like me.”
