I like how the KKK got more space.

I find it hard to believe these people are being serious or not just trying to keep up appearances for the sake of a ritual. Why would someone be so upset about something that happened 35 years ago to someone they never knew in person?
I was a Beatles fan at the age of 14 when Lennon was shot and I was taken aback by the news at the time, but that's as far as it went to this day. I'd probably feel more empathy if it weren't for the hordes of hero-worshipping fanatics.
Look at this guy Broshfab4 To me that's incredibly said. He's found it easier to get over a close relative dying than someone who (I imagine) he never met and who never knew of his existence.

Yep, it's a ritual. They're desperately trying to out-beatard eachother, to establish some sort of perverse retarded pecking order.
It's actually kinda fascinating. David Attenborough should be narrating this shit.

Chickendinna
That's true. On SHF only the following are tolerated: being sycophantic, the anodyne and the banal, the predictable, discussions revolving around tangible ownership, poo-pooing any recorded music from the last 30 years, nostalgia, waveform info, other autistic stuff.

I've been too preoccupied with mourning Stuart Sutcliffe to get around to grieving the loss of John Lennon. Perhaps in another 40 years.
I keep getting Sutcliffe mixed up with that Yorkshire Ripper dude. There was a rumour going around that Lennon kicked Sutcliffe pretty badly in a scuffle and caused his brain haemorrhage and death. Instant (well 18 years) karma gonna get you. I wonder how long a poat like this would last in SHiteville. Jerry would be having none of it.

Stuart Sutcliffe was brought up with manners, values etc. But Yorkshire women were a new breed, aggressive, ruthless and the time honored rules of courtship meant nothing to them.

My friend and I almost snuck into the Dakota back when we were 16. There was no security and the service entrance was open. And then we both had that realization of WTF and turned around and left. That was the closest I ever felt to being MDC

So many wonderful "what if" scenarios. One of the great tragedies of our time. Even Uruguay has chimed in. Isn't it wonderful? It's a Pan-American tragedy. Howard Cosell (RIP) and Monday Night Football. Who can forget? It's a reasonable turn out this year. Oh my. He wishes he could just skip this day. Like it never happened. Love it. Take a bow, sir.

My Aunt went out and bought Double Fantasy, along with everybody else, after the shooting. Even at the age of 4, I found I preferred the funny lady's comedy tracks over the tuneful, easy listening schlock which surrounded them. All apart from her version of Makin" Whoopee with new lyrics.
She gave me the record a few years back, assuring me it would be a priceless heirloom because it was his last album. I never had the heart to tell her that it is practically worthless.
