There's no way that a fragile physical medium like a vinyl record is going to be perfect anyhow. It's like they want to take something imperfect to make it as perfect as possible without it actually getting perfect, because that would ruin the joy of audiophoolery.

(By the way, the way those fools talk about new *vinyls* it sounds like the few pressing plants still extant have forgotten how to make rekkids. Which is lo-tech, to be sure. I (to my embarrassment I guess) bought literally thousands of *vinyls* (I'll be a cool kid yet, using that word) back in the day and maybe saw a dozen or so rekkids with the warping, off-centre, scuffing problems they endlessly endlessly gripe about.
It's made me reconsider how surprising it is that we've forgotten how the Pyramids were built. Fuck, we've forgotten how to press LPs?
It never dawns on that crew that maybe, just maybe, the ceedee was invented TO SOLVE A WELL-KNOWN PROBLEM!!!!)

That’s why CD was invented but then you get the idiots who claim they can hear the difference between 192 kHz and 44.1 kHz sample rates (no blind tests of course)

My favorite bit of grist, vinyl fetishists using poorly produced pop and rock records as some sort of sonic standard.

I thought these guys were vinyl "experts." Isn't that what they call each other when they have stupid questions about pops and clicks or if they actually hear what they're hearing? Every "bubbled" label I've ever come across is a double label. The one that's bubbled always peels off perfectly and easily.
