Hmm...pet urine. I think I'll start keeping my CD's in the litter box. They're gonna sound GREAT!

That whole thread discussion makes me glad I have seen the light and stopped buying so damn many physical discs (I barely listen to), but also makes me want to keep the ones I have and not throw them out with the clutter, since they really aren't worth that much on their own at the moment.

The kiddies will be begging for my CD's in ten years. Then I will have the last laugh!!! That’s just it. In order for their SeeDeez to become worth something, the beloathed hipsters will have to discover them. And somehow I don’t see some millennial spending four figures on a Bette Midler target cd ever.

I saw a certain remastered/reissued Berlin CD leaked online yesterday. I wouldn’t normally touch that crap but it seems rude not to share across SoulSeek and help fans save money in these times by not having to line the pockets of some big corporate

Yeah schnitzerphilip is a massive douche, but it’s a joy to watch the no-streaming crybabies get all twisted up about Spotify. It’s very clear that most of them don’t have a fucking clue about how The Biz works. forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/get-out-of-my-life-spotify.981822/Noted contributions from angelo73: “Spotify is utterly irrelevant.” and this magnificent sarcastic Daddy-I-want-a-pony-level tantrum from robcar is basically what most of them are thinking but don’t understand he’s taking the piss: “I want music to be made in professional recording studios staffed by teams of engineers. I want albums to be released with big splashes and campaigns requiring the talents and services of hundreds of well-trained professionals. I don't want to stream any music; I want to buy it and own it permanently in my curated music collection. And I want all of these things to be the way that everybody has to do it. The way it always was. So I'm just going to go on pretending that this IS the way things still are. Because I refuse to accept anything other than that.”

Having a strong opinion about streaming is the lowest form of conversation.

Did they forget the shitty deals the bands in the 60s got? The Beatles’ deal was complete horse shit. They just managed to sell a gigillion records and made some coin from it. The 70s were stupid good to artists because of massive stadium/arena tours and a humongous demographic in kids buying all kinds of music related shit. Then you had videos and CDs and DVDs and now we’re kinda back to the shitty deals again. There are no more pieces of useless plastic to sell.
