I wonder if corruption is a thing, when it comes to the Hall. I'm not suggesting that bribes have taken place, or even more specifically, that certain members of the committee have been persuaded to vote a certain way. but then again, that possibility can't be ruled out. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some trading of favors. The problem is that the entire process is corrupt. The induction ceremony, which is controlled by the Foundation along with the nominations and voting, is a source of revenue for the Foundation. Unlike the Baseball Hall of Fame which has had years when no one received enough votes for induction, the Foundation will induct seven artists or groups every year whether they are deserving or not because there are tickets to sell and a TV show to produce. I think that this may explain, why the Dave Matthews Band didn't make the inductees list in 2020. Corruption has truly had an effect on the entire music industry.

"Corruption" in the music business is nothing new, but I bet this guy's a Trump supporter who conveniently overlooks Trump's decades of corruption. And so it goes...

"Certain members of the committee have been persuaded to vote a certain way." Um, yes, kind of like any other committee in the world that wants to resolve an issue.

Considering the fact I didn't start listening to rock n roll until 1981 I'd say you are making off the mark assumptions of the SHF members. What is funny (not funny) is shaming people who only do love the music of that period as if you are in a rarified air far above them looking down your nose at (in your view) these old and in the way music fans. Ageism, sexism, and with subtle racial overtones all together in a nice, neat little package wrapped with a nice bow of sardonic wit (or an attempt at such). Disparaging the Monkees is oh so imaginative too. White male rock 1962-1981 bad and its male listeners either irrelevant or only worthy of your contempt. You're just as bad and the same as those you complain about because you are just as equally intolerant of music you don't like. Changing of the guard at the RRHOF but really it's the same old thing in brand new drag. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Every British musician on that list picked up a guitar because of one person. Hank Marvin. Until The Shadows are inducted the Hall of Fame remains a joke. What about Joe Meek, producer of the first US #1 by a British band? The HoF is too politically correct to even nominate him. Marc Bolan should have been inducted in 2012 (the same year as David Bowie) not in 2022. Sure he's in now but that 10 year wait beggars belief. T. Rex was inducted in 2020 and Bowie was inducted in 1996. Two very strong “like”s for me from the announcement. Q: Are there any extra “swag bags”? Still no Kansas or Jethro Tull? Should be called the Hall of Shame for those omissions. Hell, Rush only made it because fans made it happen. I don't think Mary Blige or Cher rock out, do they? I think Mr. Anthony James “Lonnie” Donegan MBE was a huge factor for those wanting to pick up a guitar in the UK.
