There is no good way to talk about this subject without going into rules breaking territory.
But maybe a few points can be touched upon.
Teens have always been a tough puzzle to figure out.
They are no longer kids so they deserve the opportunity of greater freedom and responsibility.
They are mentally hindered by the way brains develop through the teen years, as well as hamstrung by a general lack of experience due to simply not having yet experienced much, which means the freedom and responsibility should be metered accordingly, but not totally administered as it has been over their lives.
They are stuck in the middle between kid and fully functioning adult....and it is a tough set of years even when things go pretty well.
Today we have built a very weird dichotomy for these teens through programs like "Zero Tolerance", "Equity", "ESG (Environmental Social Governance) "Climate Change" "CRT (Critical Race Theory), BLM (Black Lives Matter) and others of similar thinking that focuses on equal outcome rather than equal opportunity.
We ask our teens to excell, while at the same time lowering the standards they are allowed to emulate.
We say we want excellence, but then teach those who excell they are oppressing those who are not.
We chastize the boys for displaying "toxic masculinity" while "empowering" the girls because they are tough and can punch and kick things in order to defend themself.
We pretend to educate our young using govenrmental standards testing requirements imposed throughout the school systems when in fact those standards are really just a means to measure how well the system is following orders so they can continue to receive funding.
Basically they are teaching the students what to think, rather than teaching the students how to think.
We are teaching that a certain portion of the human race is the oppressor to all others by virtue of being born a certain race.
We are telling the students there will not even be a world at all within their lifetime.
We are openly demonizing established authority figures like the Police Department...to the point of some authority figures literally talking about getting rid of the Police Department.
While at the same time we erect statues, and open foundations, placing life long convicted criminals on a pedestal of virtue.
It is a wonder ANY of the youth today aspire to much of anything when you take all the doom and gloom and blame they are asked to accept.....But there they are.
Todays teens are different than what we were, much the same as we were different than the teens who came before us.
But I see many teens looking past the indoctrinates BS and predictions of doom as they realize they have been cheated, led down a primrose path of nonsense equity training that is not the truth, not the way, not what literally proves to be what they can achieve through their direct experience.
As the teens start to branch out from the confines of the protected, indoctrinated, lives they have lived (we all lived a protected life to some extent while still in school) they are directly experiencing the effect of the choices they make, the things they control, and the outcome from their efforts...and it quickly opens their eyes and minds to the possibilities before them.
Yes, the protected situation they are coming from oftens means they step out from the shute not really ready for the race, but specifically because they are eager, adaptable, teens they often get up and running in short order...albeit a bit "behind" as compared to what we experienced.
But they are smart, they do learn, they will adapt and evlove and soon enough these teens will be functioning adults. (not all of them because there will always be failure no matter how much equity BS is forced down our throats) Adults who quite likely, and hopefully, will see through the current equity based, equal outcome BS, and work towards something better because of what they directly experience, rather than following what they have been told.
I think todays teens are going to produce a profound change for the better.
Unfortunately when that new iteration emerges it is often perceived as something unsteady, unfamiliar, unsettling, unfair....but only time will tell as we see how todays teens fare and produce their own future.
I think they are beginning to wake up and see the realities of the BS they have been given and they will hopefully cast off those chains and run as hard as they can to produce the best they can without concern for the equity BS they have been fed.
