Least image wise rooftop performance. With his look he could have easily fitted into the Woodstock band’s 1969 brown / sepia album cover. He swapped his Sgt Pepper outfit for Rag Mama Rag. Wonder if the Canadian group ever commented on it to The Beatles bass player? The Band On the Run Mr. Levon Helm was born in Elaine, Arkansas USA. They fab four look like sh..t on that photo. He needed a hat to make it complete. The 2nd Band album is the kind of thing I would’ve bought without hearing a note - just on the basis of the look of the personnel. "The Night We Drove Old Maharishi Down" "The White (album)" "Up on Kintyre Creek" "Liverpudlian Driftwood" Paul looks the least likely Beatle to fit in with The Band based on these two photos Yet still the most likely to come up with schemes to get them to keep backing him up on Granny music... John looks like **** in most of those late era Beatles photos, and McCartney mostly looks stoned. Always wonder how someone can look stoned in photographs… Glassy-eyed and not focused. Stoned?:

They look like shit because John and George were smacked out of their gourds.
And Robbie 'Accurate Songwriting Credit' Robertson described Macca's bass playing as 'noisy shit' (one of the few things I learned from Revolution In The Head, the best Beatles book). Put that fact in the thread and see what happens.
The full quote from 1969 (RR on Abbey Road & Let It Be):
"There's only one real good song, and two or three that are OK. The
Get Back album isn't good. Some of the songs sound like they just
wrote them and immediately recorded them.
It's not really valid. It's their way of being spontaneous. But
anybody can do that. You know, "Come on, dig it, dig it." But their
other album, Abbey Road, is much better. It's got about three things
that are really exceptional. The very first song on the album, a John
Lennon one...about holy rollers, or something. He sings a few phrases.
The next one's a drag. It's one of those Paul McCartney pinkey-dew
songs, "Your Mother Should Know" type songs. But the one after that is
probably the best song George Harrison has ever written. Called
"Something," it's really pretty. The next one is good too. Paul
McCartney really screams it. There's a couple other good ones too, and
there's some noisy shit. They're still really good."

If The Beatles had wanted to sound like The Band, they would have got the pianist from Gerry & The Pacemakers in to do some tasteless noodling over the top. The Band had Richard Manuel. The Beatles employed actual musicians.
