Arguably MJs as the perfect characterisation of American racial inequality in his transition from black guy no-one gave a fuck about to white international superstar.
One thing I've always wondered is if he had been born white and chosen to transition into being black and resembling an African-American would he have got as much forgivingness for his blatant mental health issues as he got because he was born black and went white. Is skin dysphoria and race attitudes to skin colour transition one of the few areas where 'black' people have it better than 'white' people?

You should look at the cover of Off the Wall carefully.

You should look at the cover of Off the Wall carefully. Deleted as the idiots on here will interpret it as racism

Off the Wall was a huge success for a guy who was already a star in the Jackson 5.
Your premise is weak ass race baiting and you are not only a pedantic dullard but a creep as well.

I'm literally pointing out the fact that he found a way to eliminate racism from his career and life. Perhaps if more of those looters and rioters on American streets took a leaf out of MJ's books they wouldn't be looters and rioters. While Off the Wall did ok in America, Thriller was an international success and there's an obvious reason.

If the dunce cap fits, wear it. Transmogrifying facts to fit a false narrative is both stupid and creepy, which is what trolls do.

We call racists racist, and to give us a "taste of our own medicine" they come over here to be racist.
Wow... just, wow!

Perhaps if more of those looters and rioters on American streets took a leaf out of MJ's books they wouldn't be looters and rioters. While Off the Wall did ok in America, Thriller was an international success and there's an obvious reason. Are you saying that the reason why Thriller was more successful than Off the Wall is because Michael Jackson was looking whiter? It seems that you are. As Bradman has already pointed out Off the Wall was a pretty big success. It wasn't just successful in the USA. 20 million worldwide, platinum in 11 other countries. Now Thriller as most of us know, came out as MTV was starting to get big and in 1983, black artists noted how it was pretty much ignoring black artists. Much of this was probably due to the fact that it was competing with rock radio stations for audiences. Thriller was an obvious crossover attempt and it worked - Van Halen's solo on Beat it etc. So the context that Thiller was made in, was one in which it was acknowledged that MTV play was going to be necessary to reach a wider audience. It did that through its production, and big video production values - Scorsese directing. But enough of that. just to be clear, and so there is no misunderstanding, what the obvious reason in your mind (as you posted above) for Thriller's success?

STeVE's people. To be fair, I'm sure Hoffman would find this guy repellant, even if he is still happy to take his money. You forgot to kiss STeVE's ass about his "masterings" and how much better STeVE's life is than your own. That's the ticket!
