this so-called music critics grumble about good pop music

I don’t understand why this so-called music critics have to grumble about good pop music. It was the same with the Carpenters who were criticized because of their “uncool“ and “square“ music. The music journalists didn’t noticethat Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices in pop history. Don‘t get me wrong: I mostly listen to rock bands (like The Beatles or The Who). But that doesn’t prevent that I could listen to perfect pop music as well. I don’t like it to reject music because of the image!
