The motion of my hand is one of jerking off.

I personally have full awareness of which instruments my friends have and have never heard. How would/could this conversation ever happen??

I threw a little Neal Hefti and Morton Stevens at my nieces and nephews. All ANALOG. Blew their minds! I can't wait to spring "Can't Hardly Wait" on them!

My turntable was $40 from a guy at work. My Energy speakers were free from my neighbour. My Onkyo receiver was $279.
Decent vinyl sounds just fine on this junk shop system.
rjp, go fuck yourself.

I don't think I have ever seen a poat from rjp that was anything less than moronic. While even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, it looks like he cannot - at all.

Ever notice that all these guys’ audiophile demos start with “so I got my friend drunk” ?

That same thread features a guy earnestly posting that "They should make a movie about the early days of audience concert recording!" Yeah, that'd be a cinematic masterpiece: an entire film about socially-challenged proto-SHites stuffing cassette recorders down their pants and standing in an auditorium to record a murky sounding tape of a Blue Oyster Cult gig. The end. Just before the tape cuts off, you hear some drunk guy ask "You think they're gonna do Godzilla?" Sorry, any mention of BOC makes me think of Thevius and his stupid avatard.

Khorn: "That’s really funny as I’ve related this here before. Way back in the late 70’s or early 80’s I had just bought the first Bryston preamp along with the new 4B amp.
Friends who were avid club and concert goers happened to drop by while some music was being played. They looked at the components then turned to each other and started laughing. I of course asked what was so funny and one said “I can actually hear the words they’re singing and it’s coming from a couple of black boxes with no shining lights”. I wondered what the heck they were used to listening to at home!"
