Another bullshit "my buddy" story. Speaking of which... Floatupstream said: Not to hijack the thread Pete, but under what circumstances did you see Lennon? DK Pete said: It was a windy, sunny Wednesday in 1977 (yes, I remember it that well). At the time, I was musically involved with another guy, both of us aspiring singer-songwriters (I was 19, by the way). Being a very balsy kind of guy, Jesse had the brilliant idea that we could go by the Dakota, track down John, and present him with a cassette of our originals in hopes he could somehow help us or maybe hook us up with someone that could (we also met Morris Levy during this time period ). So…we get to the Dakota and the little old man guard informs us that “they” had gone out a while ago. We decided to wait around. Ten minutes hadn’t passed when we spotted John and Yoko walking our way with Sean in John’s arms. John had on a blue denim jacket with jeans and cowboy type boots. He had a super upright walk with the wind blowing back what I recall as longish, reddish hair. Yoko was in all black with a beret. As they neared us, John looked right at me, paused, and nodded, “hallo (“hello” with an “ah” sound in place if the “e”). I was speechless and nodded back. Jesse asked if we could have a minute of his time to listen to a tape of some of our songs. John, without hesitation and with that upswing tone, answered, “no”. As I continued standing mute, Jesse tried to fumble a plea of sorts as John cut him off and said (pretty much word for word), “I can’t help you; I’m not a manager or an agent and there’s nothing I can do for you”. I remember looking at Yoko as he spoke..she literally looked me up and down making me feel more pathetic by the split second. He added something about us having to play around the clubs and expose our material or something to that effect. As he approached the entrance door, he gave us one more look and said, “you have to get yourselves an agent”. That was it. In, through the door, and out of my life forever.

What clinches its status as a tall tale is the obligatory portrayal of Ono as a suspicious, evil-eyed harridan.

I would also be suspicious and evil-eyed if two idiotic teenagers were bothering my husband when we were out walking with our son.

He had me with "At the time, I was musically involved with another guy". I would also be suspicious and evil-eyed if two idiotic teenagers were bothering my husband when we were out walking with our son. Seriously. That's what got him killed.

Is anyone following along with this Segasonic91 guy's posts in the "Why is MY generation's music..." thread? He's claiming to already be purchasing records at the age of 3 and all sorts of other nonsense.
I could not give a crap if you believe I started buying records at 3 or not, but it's a fact. If you were not intelligent enough at 3 years old to like and buy music, that's your problem. What the hell does "coming of age" have to do with liking or disliking music? Music sucked in the 90's, I had better things to be interested in by the time I was 13, MEGA-DRIVE.
As a late 4th birthday/early Christmas present, mum bought me KISS UNMASKED and (embarrassingly) ABBA Super Trouper. I remember really wanting Bowie's Scary Monsters at the time, too, but sadly never got it back then. Ashes To Ashes (released on my 4th birthday in the UK, probably a week or 2 later in Australia) was one of my favourite songs, although I thought the film clip was creepy, haha!!---I have always looked at 3 or 4 year old kids throughout my life and wondered how the hell I was like I was. I sure as hell was not a typical child. People on this forum, especially those old, arrogant ones have always called bull when I say I started listeni

I like how he calls people "not intelligent enough" and "old" not to mention he says, "music sucked in the 90's" but then goes on to call other people arrogant.

It's called Dull Bar, and it's a nice place where dull men gather to talk about dull things such as Macca.
