Based on those Billboard charts from the end of the '00s, where apparently post-grunge and nu-metal were hanging on for dear life, Obama killing "rock and roll" would have been a mercy killing. Those charts read like the lineup for the "rock" night of a Summer of 2021 Red State County Fair COVID Fest, since everyone who has ever been in a second-tier southern rock band has died.

The only band listed that I MIGHT listen to is Disturbed. Even then I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.
That’s brutal stuff.

No wonder no one gives a shit about rock music anymore. Theory of a Dead Man? Please. If I didn't have the song and artist names, I bet I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between most of them. Thankfully, by 2008/09, it was beyond simple to jump online and go down any rabbit hole that sounded good.

Fusionfan starts typing up this week’s Scandinavian sales chart to show rock’s as healthy as it’s ever been.

Young white men moved on from rock n roll to such activities as shooting up schools and joining cults.
