Demand for stadiums must be high as Elton has added more: Sunday, October 16, 2022 Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome Monday, October 17, 2022 Tacoma, WA Tacoma Dome Friday, October 22, 2022 Vancouver, BC BC Place Saturday, October 22, 2022 Vancouver, BC BC Place Initial it was only the 21st in Vancouver for the Northwest. Now he can soak the travelling Seattle fans again, plus anyone in Vancouver who wants to see his "Final Canadian show" can get soaked as well. I think only 6 acts have tried BC Place for multiple nights. Jacksons 1984(107,000 over 3 nights), Who 1989, Stones 1989/1994, u2 late 1992, Pink Floyd 1994 and Elton is the first act to try in 28 years. Stones 1994 were the only one to do Seattle area/Vancouver the same week and did 140,000 total, which Elton could potentially surpass. Somewhere around the halfway mark of the 320 dates currently scheduled gross around $350 million. He's going after the u2 360/Ed Sheeran biggest tour of all time record. Sept 2018-July 2023 is silly, but covid does give some leeway since he couldn't play for 22 months. Usually you post in other threads how Vancouver gets screwed out of major tours. This time you are criticising Elton for "soaking" Vancouver more. You are hard to please. In the past 6 months I've only been pointing out acts that skip Canada entirely in 2022 because of acts balking at entry rules. Before that it's acts that go a decade or more skipping my city. "Soaking" is referring to some on the cheeky marketing on this tour. I think 2 stadiums up here is very ambitious, but if he fills them it might actually be an Pacific Northwest attendance record up here in some way depending how you twist it. 5 nights Vancouver + 4 nights Tacoma beats the Stones 1982 attendance. FanExpo autograph circuit would love to have Phil Collins and he'd do very well. Michael J Fox or Tim Curry have more health considerations than Phil. Some 2016 Phil signatures still looked good. I think the rehearsal videos warrant a live release. Video product is already a niche, plus they can do fancy packaging or price point or mail order only to keep it away from casual fans. Nic Collins is one reason to justify release. I do agree somewhat in regards to an audio only release. Stick it in a box with the unrelease 2007 blu-ray upgrade and 1998 Wembley show in true HD. Tragically Hip, Rush did classy last tours. A-Ha can be argued as well. Roxy Music 50 is not billed as a Final or Farewell tour. Like Fleetwood Mac 50 it likely is the final/farewell tour. Genesis Last Domino was also not technically billed as a last tour, though members(Mike only?) strongly hinted it in a text interview during the US leg. Very quiet on the tour side of things. Brian did one song with Foo Fighters in 2021 is about it after the album promo. Australia civil unrest and covid seems to have cleared up enough for acts to tour. Australian civil unrest? That's news to me........ 6 months of riots I was live streaming video. Plus issues getting in/out of the country for ACDC members scattered around the globe.

Sports do OK with live broadcasts(excluding the Olympics). If Gervais hosted the Oscars rating would be double the 9 million is was in 2021/2022. Oscars 2021/2022 were a problem because people didn't go to the theaters in big numbers. Plus nobody wants "glitz" after the past 2 years. Politics and virtue signaling are also a big turn off, as a couple of Amy's jokes were super cringe.

Swearing from Will Smith is heard in this video. 50 seconds fan footage right after the slap shot 2 rows behind Jada/Will. She laughed after the incident. She was clearly complicit before/after the slap. What is HER punishment? Is Jada going to continue her Oscar attendance plus parties and think nothing of it?

Who would win in a Tard Cage Match, Chee or SoundAdvice? He has a big Bon Jovi family (not his) that were sitting around getting cash drained.....another year off the road was too much. He went out the way he is. Sambora is clean, Heather 86'd him for one drunk driving performance with his daughter in the back seat.....she'd never allow him to visit if he were still friends with Jack Daniels, he's always over to the Locklear mansion to see Eva. Standard Bon Jovi stage. Harry M Stevens, geez I still have some Harry M Stevens soda cups from Aqueduct Race Track from decades ago. Jon's voice was okay on the last tour.

He wears in-ears and seems to have started wearing them circa 2000, after poking around some photos. That's pushing 2,000 shows(plus soundchecks/studio) over 15 years running around the front of stage with bare ears. Wearing in-ears and being locked to front stage with 4-5 floor speakers(middle one is a prompter) AND in-ears does point to hearing issues. Donald Fagen, Daryl Hall, Ian Anderson and a couple others have 1 or more backup singers "shadowing" lead vocals quite extensively at live shows. One of JBJ's only arena options here other than going the Steve Perry or Paul Stanley routes. I'm much more forgiving of Dylan of Art Garfunkel since they play smaller venues. Dylan's still good albums give him further leeway over peers on the hit circuit with very aged vocals. Something weird is happening in 2022. He's the only guy onstage with floor monitors and everyone else in the band is doing in-ears. Jon's bare ear 1995 front stage set up was 2 floor monitors and now it's 4 floor monitors. Jon had in-ears from 1999 or so until pre-covid. 2022 is weirdly inconclusive on in-ears. Couple years ago with in-ears and no front of stage floor monitors for him, just a lyric prompter. HD photos from Consequence of sound 2022 show review. Possibly no in-ears. His carefully coifed hair style this year carefully covers his ears in an odd way. I see no evidence of him wearing off stage hearing aids like Neil Young or Herbie Hancock, which are surprisingly discreet to nearly invisible. JBJ's New Jersey musical hero Bruce Springsteen is also known to have lots of hearing loss and uses cranked floor monitors onstage. April 11th Greenville South Carolina videos from this user are very close. I think he stopped wearing in-ears as I can't see any wires or battery pack under his shirt. I'm now wondering if he's wearing battery hearing aids and using cranked floor monitors. His fitness looks good but he rarely if ever leaves his center stage speaker area when singing. Another benefit of using floor monitors is he can "feel" the pitch as much as hearing it.

U2's Popmart tour had lots of irony and the "show runner" Willie Williams wrote in a book about how they humor did not travel well to certain international markets. Bono also did a different "ironic" preacher character in the US in 1992 and a different "satan" character in the Europe 1993. There's also European music/fashion/art etc that has irony that goes a mile overhead when Americans see it.

I think the Frey's estate own a solid chunk(40/40/10/10 is my guess). Henley's choices are keep paying or not use the name. I doubt there is a "death clause" but Irving Azoff sorta did that with Steely Dan after Walter Becker died and a one-time check was written after a bit of lawyer squabbling. Journey still have to pay Perry, Queen still have to pay Deacon/Mercury, Beach Boys(Mike & Bruce casino & fairground lineup) still have to play Brian Wilson/Al Jardine etc. I think in all these cases it's a flat annual fee rather than straight percentage. I think it's a health issue or Deacon lost interest in globe trotting with his dead dad's old co-workers playing to senior citizens.

Canadian band "Tea Party" actually got a million dollars US for their domain name when some VERY deep pocketing US political groups wanted it. "The Music" were a band in 2003 are somewhat google proof. I used to have trouble with "Prince". Searching 90's female pop group "All Saints" live clips without song titles used to give me lots of fashion walkway shows and church clips on youtube. I local band in my town used to be named "BB" but google and youtube were useless other than some BB King live clips. "Shadow banning" and "down ranking" on youtube and google are very real things for certain topics and people. Lots of rap groups who get very creative with spelling of their name can me a headache. Dave Chappelle did a segment on slap gate when I saw him in Vancouver on Saturday night with 18,000 fans. He's filming a special for Netflix in LA this week so I won't spoil it too much. DC is knows both Will and Chris so a unique perspective and talked about how internet responded "Chappelle wouldn't have reacted like that" and his opinion on that. Chappelle also mentioned that he talked to Chris Rock on the phone a few hours earlier. Didn't see a single phone up during the show, except one guy DC pointed out and kicked out. Bit of a lineup to leave. He won't do trans jokes on TV, but he did not shy away from it at in-person shows. Plus open comments about fidelity in his marriage. Audio of all of this won't be popping up anytime soon. He did 65 minutes which was a touch light IMO. Way off topic, I'll do a tiny bit about Will. Opening act Jeff "Roastmaster" Ross' joke: "We've lost many comedians recently like Gilbert Gottfried and Will Smith...."

Paul McCartney - Got Back Tour 2022San Fran and LA are getting very similar shows 3 years apart. At least swap in some soundcheck songs for those cities. Anyone else smirk at Johnny Depp being in the My Valentine back drop video? PAUL solicited song choices from fans online. PAUL could easily swap songs from soundcheck. PAUL is the one giving tours new names/marketing while selling near identical shows in the same cities in 3 years apart. Did you hear half the crowd coming from places other than Spokane during a banter chat? 1st time viewers do have that reaction. When he plays SF and LA to the same people who saw nearly the same show in 2019 it will be the same reaction? No. I saw the Vancouver 2016 Paul show and got a VERY similar show in the same city in 2019 and the crowd was very low energy. I'm a bit surprised we're 22 songs in and yet only have one McCartney III number. I thought we'd have at least two by now. He's either going to cram a couple in for the last third of the show, have just one more, or leave "Women and Wives" as the only one. I prefer Option A. Soundcheck buyers got to hear that song twice!! Setlist.fm has the earlier setlist up as well. My only complaint is that he didn’t play more from MIII. I wonder if this a complaint Paul has heard often in the past 22 years. I agree with the above statement. Leonard Cohen did 3 hour shows in arenas at 80 and still changed things up between tours. You swap out 2-3 songs that he'll do in soundcheck for songs in the main set and maybe get another III song there. Doing the same III song twice for VIP fans as the only representation from that album is a bit lame. I really hope tonight was a quasi dress rehearsal to get nearly 3 years of rust off.
