DLR had flirted with casinos and clubs. After the 2007 reunion he only did a few Vegas solo shows and a partial tour leg with KISS. Van Roth with Wolf would have given the brothers a bigger cut than a Van Hagar reunion, even with Mike on salary. I can't see Van Hagar or anything Hagar can put together as being a priority for Live Nation regardless of the sales/hits they had on paper. Nor can I see Van Hagar filling arenas after 2007 in more than 10 US cities. Live Nation thought Mike doing a cameo with Van Roth was more important than Van Hagar, even if relationships were better. They have HD shows from 2006 onward that could be released instead on of SD rehashes. If Atlantic City vault only sold 9k in the US and they went to the CopA/SLC DVD only hardcover format pushing $100 for the next one then there's something wrong on the management end. MSG Licks needs some serious bonus stuff. I'd think 1976, any No Filter, 2012-3, Toronto 05, China 2006 HD with Super Bowl HD, New Orleans 78 jumbotron, LSTNT blu-ray outside Japan, a full South America 2016 show, career music videos or even a proper running order Cuba in true 4kUHD would be bigger video release priorities. Satisfaction Hyde 2013 in faux 3D from Exhibitionism, as a possible bonus. Cactus were maybe a test for the Dead? Gerry Stickells as Jimi's roadie may have been careful about anyone taping their soundboard feed. The Doors roadie was checking for that from 68 onward. Jimi Hollywood Bowl may have got out because of relay speaker towers(?) at the venue or permanent PA. It was rumored that Criterion gave their Polanski Tenant and Hughes 16 Candles projects already in progress to other boutique labels to release. For politically correct reasons. John Wayne may suffer the same fate at Criterion and have to pop up on another label. I guess recent memory Oscars protected The Pianist 4k release. JHE and Mike sat for a 20/20 or Dateline "news magazine" video profile around Miami Pop and Voodoo Child recording session. In 1968 as the highest price act in the US it was never aired. Tiny bit seen in his tv obituary. Outtakes stolen in early 70's.

No questions whether or not he had & still has a good stand up act. The problem is that NBC seem to have him on a tight leash when he's on camera. He's shared a couple political opinions of his on his show that made my jaw drop. I'll get railroaded on this forum if I get specific as per forum rules. Many have also complained that he doesn't have much of personality beyond work. He's more relaxed in his car video blogs on NBCs website, but I get no insight into him. I also found it interesting that he has no interest in owning the show or past episodes like Carson and Letterman/Ferguson. I'm waiting for an interviewer to really press Jay on some of the specific issues and see if he can still play the "just regular guy" game. Interviewers must be on a tight leash. Good they got LL before he died. I think Janie Hendrix has a relationship with GW, so Mitch Mitchell may have been on a tight leash. MM had few precious but fascinating insights in his book from the 80's - like how the Woodstock band got worse the more than rehearsed for some reason, and his opinion as why Noel was fired from Fat Mattress even though he gave them all their career breaks. Another person who could be in the Beatles Mojos is a Patti Boyd interview now that she put her book out. Have a couple Beatlefreaks brainstorm some great questions for her. For those that wonder about how they have kept so well beaved this tour? Let's just say that the click track on many songs was Sting's idea, keep Stew on a tight leash. I got the impression that Sting had Stew on a bit of a leash that tour. Especially when it came to locking the drumming to some backing tapes. And revoking his blogging priviledges after the opening city. Money and attentions were Sting's motivation. I also think he knew he couldn't wait longer, like the CREAM reunion where they are just too old. Watched some Seattle and Hollywood videos and left with some very mixed feelings. Great to see them back but I anticipate some old criticisms about live gigs to return. For comparison I watched some Rundgren/New Cars live clips and Easton was allowed to go "off-leash" a bit more which made a big difference. Also, 75 minutes is a bit skimpy for a band with 7+ albums. Van Morrison has longer shows. How much is click tracked? Pretty sure Sting had Copeland on click for much of the show just to keep him on a short leash. Larry Mullen has a most of u2 show clicked as well. Yes, some of it has t odo with production, extra backing tapes and the light show. Charlie Watts and Max Weinberg(Lars too?) show that most of a full production rock concert can be done without click. Was Copeland allowed to go "off-leash" on the Synchro tour? Pretty sure all of the reunion tour had him tied to a click. The things that make Sting's solo career annoying were kept on a tight leash for the Police tour 2007-2008. I wonder if Ronnie will be on a tight leashJon Stewart generally does just that - give very interesting guests a long leash to explain some fairly complex topics. NBC tightly control what clips are on youtube. Some think late night interviews went downhill around the time Carson went from 90 minutes to 60. There's weirdly few outlets for quality 1 on 1 interviews that go into depth on a topic. It's weird that none of the show sit down with anyone for longer than 12 minutes on TV. Studios and PR agents also seem interested in keeping their stars on a tight leash. I'm still perplexed that Conan kept the 3 guest format. He has complete freedom to play with the format and offer viewers/guests longer interviews but stuck to the formula. Any clips where sparks fly or Clapton decides to go "off leash"? The show surpassed my expectations and I honestly have nothing to complain about. Might swap around the setlist order a bit for better flow, but that's only making a great show slightly better. BG was on his best behaviour and the "diva" moments were on a short leash. His off hand remarks were mostly funny rather than "WTF?" Similar outfit as night 1, but a silver undershirt thing going down to his knees - if anything Mickey had him beat in the outfit department. Had a long conversation with the guy who was blocked on twitter by BG and posted a couple pages ago in this thread. if I wasn't passing out in 5 minute4s I'd look up his name. They are travelling with a modest light rig and there are 13 musicians onstage. Core 4, keys, extra guitar, tito puente guy, 3 brass and 3 backing vox. Mickey talked to the early birds before doors opened. Fans asked if Moss coulod at least do a smile & wave at his shows he's not playing but it sounds like he's resting. Mickey said LA was the earliest he'd appear. Recreating the mono debut ix from 4 track stems does have some genuine potential. Depending if Botnick can be kept on a tight leash. David appreciated it, but I think the choices were more Paul Shaffer and the bookers being given a long leash. Never seen a interview where Letterman showed any deep musical knowledge, in fact some of his TV band intros and post performance comments("check out those drums") were nearly identical. Is anyone actually asking for Sorum? Who knows if Adler can ever do a 2-3 hour show ever again. Though a 20-30 minute cameo every night with him on a tight leash would be a big deal. Gabrels has been serving songs very well with The Cure on tour for quite a few years now, though it's all other parts by previous guitarists(minus a couple songs sometimes played. Question remains if it's The Cure keeping him on a tight leash, Bowie pushing Gabrels to be "in your face" on most songs or changes in his life after the Bowie/RG period ended. The 1997-2015 FM tours had very fixed set lists. Lawyers/management may have been involved and everyone's role onstage explicitly defined. LB can't just go off leash and throw in a 4 minute guitar solo on a whim. Stevie signed off on those set lists and uses them as vocal break rest stops and maybe wardrobe change. At best the complaint is whether he's serving the concert or "show boating" too much. I think some of it has to due tacky comments about his gruff voice or his "name that tune" singing at shows the past couple decades. Someone like TOOL are militant about no filming at shows, like Bob, yet Tool don't bother doing much about live clips on YouTube. Van Morrison/Eagles/Garth/Bryan Adams/Jimi/Dylan seem to be the anti youtube acts right now. Prince was on the list but the estate have given fans a much longer leash, though some stuff still vanishes. Zeppelin was tough to find for a few years, then they did a 180. I didn't laugh at any sketches. I'm still loyal to Desk and the music, even if it's way off my radar. I put blame on the writers being put on a tight leash by NBC on topics they can't talk about. Major events on US soil, but instead we get game show sketches.

Yet another tour that mysterious skips Canada altogether, though I have a guess as to why that I'll let others guess.

I called them irrelevant, but said nothing about their figure. You did when they appeared on their yacht near a public beach in France. They are almost always fighting fit when it comes to tours. Edge actually looks more muscular than out of shape. If they want viral marketing they should release some worthwhile live goodies form the vault and not price gouge. Improving the vinyl would also help as I've compared some of the AB-after ones against originals and they the reissues didn't cut it in most cases. The scar on Bono's chest is new. Likely some major invasive surgery.

At least 10 festivals in North America/Europe will have to find a new headliner if they cancel. I'm sure those offices are seeing what's available as we speak. Beale St/New Orleans Jazz festival in May are surely 2 events without them, good lucking finding something on 5-7 weeks notice during the touring logjam. I had front pit tickets for A-Ha in LA opening night. Travel is too much hassle from Canada so not sure if they get used.
