I actually got booted off Hoofy's forum for standing up for this guy. Turns out he's barmy. That guy's a few fries short of a happy meal. Nearly every day he gets a new LP that completely and utterly shatters his conception of what is possible. Every fucking thing he gets his hands on is an "audiophile-silent incredible smashing wonderful sensational 10/10 astonishing tremendous mind-blowing ridiculously good spectacular absolute belter etc. etc. etc."
For a while I thought he was trolling, but no, it's gone way too far, I think he's just insane. What annoys me truly though is that he's a perfect example of someone who cares a million times more about the quality of the vinyl pressing than the actual music. He never says a word about music. I've never seen him once commenting about preferring any particular song or album or artist or anything like that. He just buys anything that is (in his imagination possibly) AAA, and then every single time his reaction to listening to it is as if an angel just came down from heaven and blew him.

I saw him in the reviews on Discogs a couple of days ago, and he’s got exactly the same schtick over there. I wondered if he’d popped up here but I think we were talking about perennial dickhead James Slattery instead (or unjustly forgotten British comedian Tony Slattery). Anyway, yes he’s bonkers. |

I'm glad you guys pointed him out. He was so effusive in that Australian pressing thread about Abbey Road that I thought he'd found a secret "hot stamper" . But then he got real defensive when someone challenged him on Pepper and I suspected he was a little off.

Looks like he closed down his own thread after a pushback from a few longtime posters. Slattery's a stoner by the sound of it. Says he's spending $1000 a week on vinyl at the mo 'cos he's in lockdown! Anyway, he got all butthurt that his "OUTSTANDINGINCREDIBLEJAWDROPPINGAMAZINGASSGAPING" LP is actually just a plain old 1980s Abbey Road reissue made from kangaroo gonads.

Hilariously he completely ignores his first rule in his very next post by cutting and pasting some bullshit press release for a super-dooper overpriced reissue of What's Going On. Which isn't released yet so he's not heard it.
