My guess is after The Beatles: Get Back, Apple will want to next launch the whole Anthology series (the eight original episodes, perhaps each one expanded a little?) on streaming as well, which will mean a re-issue of the soundtracks on CD and vinyl, and probably a desire to have "Now and Then" as the new single to promote that all. Now maybe that doesn't happen till 2023 or later, but I could see this having been a vague game plan for the past 3-4 years and therefore Paul having it on his plate to spearhead the completion of "Now and Then" for the past couple years....With the whole series on streaming, that would give Apple a good chunk of change in a deal for exclusivity of that content (probably more than straight blu-ray sales), and something like "Finally here's John's 'lost' Beatles song from the Anthology era that the band did not finish...until now!" etc will help sell the music again.

In general I just want to hear Paul the artist as he is now, on new material, but AI "young Paul" backing vocals harmonizing with himself in the background to support a more natural mature lead vocal I think could be really interesting to try on some of his new songs. That's no different than using a synth or drum machine, it's all artificial "magic." I wouldn't mind AI playing a small-ish role in a completed version of "Now and Then" or remixes of Real Love and Free as a Bird, either.

Someone has already done an AI thing of "Paul McCartney" covering "Beautiful Boy." I'll save you the trouble: It sucks.

Regarding the completion of Now and Then, they can still fly in snippets from Carnival of Light.

Man, these AI creations are absolute shit. I'll be glad when people lose interest in this gimmick.

Ya I think some of them are pretty wild and if I could figure out what they’re using I’m there.

It's clever, but pretty creepy for post truth. Gotta say though that hearing a 'McCartney' vocal on that Bread track puts it in interesting context with McCartney's real solo/Wings material.

I REALLY want to add Mrs. Miller vocals to stuff like Supertramp or Gentle Giant. Or Rush.
