With Ringo talking about Now and Then too, I'll go out on a limb and say that Paul mentioning it in the interview about the book wasn't a slip or a big mistake that Apple wishes had not happened. I think the approach with this might have been planned out to let Paul and Ringo (and Sean) talk about it a little bit this summer prior to the official announcement, for a variety of reasons. Like a soft-launch that slowly builds a lot of talk about the track so that when it's officially announced the hype and groundswell among Beatles Stans to pre-order it is even greater than if it was a surprise announcement. We're probably in for big social media announcement with a short teaser clip and a multi-day countdown to the music video premiere and all kinds of promo tie-ins.

It's all part of the big plan. Every word. Every little wink and nod. Paul is just the meat puppet. Behind him, a secret cabal of Apple employees, comprised of members of the most influential families in the world, such as Rothschild and Soros, pull the strings. This was all set into motion in 1977 when they instructed Lennon, via his caretaker/hypnotist Yoko Ono, to sit at the piano and "compose" the song. Since then, all of the pieces have slowly been revealed to us sheep, even when we are too blind to see. 12-8-1980, 9-11-2001, and now, finally, ??-??-2023 (or 2024). This is it folks. Keep your eyes peeled. The lizard people are about to reveal themselves. Or Now and Then is coming out. Something like that.

Free As A Bird - FAAB Real Love - RL Now And Then - NAT FAABRLNAT…rearrange them and what have you got? That’s right, the holy grail: BANAL FART. This goes all the way to the ass, people.

I'm a big proponent of including the rooftop version of Don't Let Me Down on a new comp in place of the b-side version, which is already on Blue and Past Masters, and the rooftop version is not technically on a physical format, just streaming. Yes, the Let it Be Naked version/edit is out there, too, but not the raw rooftop take. The rooftop Don't Let Me Down is on the LIB box set. Yeah that's true I was thinking of the version that's only on streaming on the "Complete Rooftop" album. I think it sounds slightly different? Could be wrong. Anyway...It should be on the comp. It's not on a big Beatles comp.

It's right there on the cover of Sgt. Pepper (which also accurate foretold of the US blackout of 2003, that lost Malaysian plane, and, believe it or not, there is a secret message that warned me not to go out on June 5th, 2016. I don't know what would have happened but I'm glad not to have found out!) We see the old Beatles, the "then." And then the Sgt. Pepper band, which you might think is the "now." But the "now" is actually then because it's not 1967 anymore but the Beatles are still relevant today so the idea, the concept of BEATLES itself is the now and it's eternal. There's a hand over Paul's head. Some misread it as a benediction for the dead/dying. But really, he's just waving hello!

I think it would be cool to get a stand-alone disc with something like this: 1. Free as a Bird (2023 remix) 2. Real Love (2023 remix) 3. Now and Then 4. Free as a Bird (John's demo - MAL/stereo mix) 5. Free as a Bird (Session outtake) 6. Free as a Bird (1+ remix) 7. Real Love (John's demo - MAL/stereo mix) 8. Real Love (Session outtake) 9. Real Love (1+ remix) 10. Now and Then (John's demo - MAL/stereo mix) 11. Now and Then (Session outtake) 12. Now and Then (Alt-mix, maybe some kind of remix or a mix without strings?) Yeah I know, keep dreaming lol.

Just curious: why would there BE evidence at the present time? NOW & THEN is the headline - the other two songs have already had their moment, twice. Remixed once already. But they'd sure add power, plus solving some old problems. Think what pleasant sleight-of-hand it would be if Apple keeps us totally focused on N&T until the last minute. An actual release of the other two reunion songs alongside it would be a treasure trove, and is something well within their reach now.
It just makes sense to me. I can't put it more concretely, just intuition. They've had all this time to consider various ideas, and, as I said earlier, could've already dealt with those 2 songs anytime in the 2-3 years since Peter Jackson's demixing breakthrough. What better moment than now for a "final" FAAB/RL upgrade alongside a "final" new Beatles record? I think the new song will raise the ante, just like each new Beatles record used to. And wouldn't that just be such a proper finale? (But I've certainly been way wrong before...)

Penn is just trying to be relevant. Because no one's said it (and no one cares I'm sure but anyway no one's said it) it's pretty clear to me he did not like the record! Mainly because he said they talked about the "quality" of the song until someone finally said "But it's the Beatles last single!" Overall he seemed pretty derogatory towards the endeavor, or perhaps he was just trying to be humorous about it. I think it was his lame attempt at being funny (and at being relevant).

I do wonder how the song ends. Will it be a long fade out with horns and strings going on and on? Something more simple like the all the overdubs dropping off leaving just John and his piano for the final line? Or will Paul want the song to have some kind of memorable unique ending in the vein of A Day in the Life or The End? The last bit of the last Beatles song...no pressure :shh:
