Out of sheer boredom, I've been reading John Barrett's handwritten log of Beatles tapes on lukpac's flickr account. I was idly scrolling through when something pertaining to Hoffman caught my eye. Steve has claimed he remixed the Beatles Hollywood Bowl tape for kicks in 1976. How can this be so? According to Barrett's meticulous notes, the original 3 track tapes were shipped to the Abbey Road tape library where they were given accession numbers in May 1971, 5 years before Hoffman claimed to remix them in Hollywood. You can prove anything with facts. www.flickr.com/photos/lukpac/16389647473/in/album-72157649386810053

I always assumed that was a total lie.

When EMI heard that STeVE was gonna be going into the studio, they next day-ed the tapes back to Hollywood so he could inject the breath of life into them. George Martin heard the results and was dead chuffed.

Agree. Anything that comes from STEVe's lips or fingers is automatically assumed a boldfaced lie. And usually is.
