I would guess this is related to vinyl backlog issues. Just my guess though. Perhaps they will stagger the CD and Vinyl release again like they did for SFGC. Not a fan of them doing that really

As both myself and Yazid have previously mentioned, the set is delayed. As to the speculation posted for the reason(s) why, as far as I'm aware none have been accurate.



So not cancelled or postponed, simply delayed. If EH/Sony have yet to have been able to deal with the delay how can a new date be available?

From what I know / been told this delay has bugger all to do with any legal issues. But please, don't let that stop the fantastic speculation as i may have been misinformed of the real delay :shh:

I enjoy your contributions to Jimi threads, but youve been playing a bit of a "I know something you dont know" tease/game on here in regards to this release. Not sure its fair you asking people for their 'reasoning' when you yourself refuse to divulge any sort of information or reason you claim to be in possession of.

I recall the SACD delay, I didn't say anything then, as we waited. I don't feel its my place to say tbh. EH and /or Sony are the o es who need to step up and be honest, it really wouldn't hurt them at all.

Maybe you are not keeping up and relying on this forum to deliver all of your Hendrix information! Its a site that has openly discouraged questions and shows a debate cannot be undertaken without folk being personal in their comment, hence a lot of reluctance to openly share [at least here] any valid information. That said, its not my place to share the reasoning behind the delay; That is a point for EH / Sony to address yet given how they themselves have never made a release announcement I find it difficult to think they would issue a delay statement either.



I will point out, I've not been posting any claims on the delay, simply pointing out those that have been presented are off the mark. I'm more than happy for you or anyone to conclude how they see fit. The one thing that is apparent, it wont bring the releases any quicker

The pulling of the Amazon preorder page coincided, nearly to the day, with the announcement of the Mitchell/Redding lawsuit. My assumption is that Mitchell is featured prominently on these recordings.

I don't know whether the delay is down to the litigation or not. But it wouldn't just be a question of EH setting aside royalties in case they have to share them. If Sony's lawyers have advised that EH's ownership of the material is uncertain, that may well result in Sony putting things on hold rather than risking getting sued themselves.

Isn't this how we build those stories and how the very facts get lost?

If a correlation can be found between the streaming royalties issue and the delay can we please show it, other wise its all unsupported / unfounded speculation.

I know nothing about any lawsuits and care even less but this delay has nothing to do with vinyl pressing delays. That doesn't stop the CD release which most of us would want anyway.



Quite often vinyl appears later, after the CD. If anything, a delay in the vinyl could help promote it and boost the demand for the CD set even higher.

This only "works" if it was a vinyl delay, which it isn't.

Or this only works if its a law suit delay, which it isn't.

Both Gordon Johnson and Pats Radio don't have any inside information apart from their thoughts and feelings they turn into facts, yet keep on teasing other users and pretending to know more than anyone else. Rdiculous. I'm just waiting for Gordon to start spreading theories (he calls facts) about only the US version being AAA again like he did on several other Hendrix releases. :biglaugh:
It's about the feeling to be important/superior and to receive the attention from other users (they don't receive in real life?) who beg them to tell more.

Insiders who know things unknown to the public they don't want to or can't share don't need to constantly remind others that they 'know something'.

It's a very small minority, those who want to turn every Hendrix threads into a Gordon Johnson thread, it's rather flattering I suppose!



That's said, for those who do struggle with a few posts from me, we'll you need to understand as to who they are meant for and why they get posted. If that's missed I guess the post is really inclusive of them.



As for the delay, in due course it'll be covered (as boring as it is) once the release is made available

Here's what you should do. You should pm all of us with a password-protected doc containing the reason(s) for the delay. Then, when it's eventually released as it inevitably will be, you can give us the password, so that we can evaluate your reason(s) in the light of what eventually transpires. Sound fair?

I can only go from source information as like the rest of you, I'm not employed by EH. Yet I'm more confident in my source contacts than I am in lazy speculation or childish snipping. Two things that even grown adults on this forum appear to be afflicted with, fortunately in the minority.
