Very good parody. My only criticism is that there also needed to be an Analogman1963 and an AnalogMan7027 in the article.

Dirtydan thinks irony is what the females do with his shirts. No, he thinks irony is what women were put on this earth to do.

Guess what? The MoFi brouhaha just got covered in the Washington Post! Have a read: This was supposed to appear last week. For a while peopsons we’re poating about how they’d been interviewed by the Poat for a forthcoming story, but in the end, the only credited SHiTe quoted is the guy laughing at the golden ears of the poaters.

Enjoy that?
My favorite part is that while SHF got a mention (and STeVE got his name in the paper in that context), Hoffman was completely ignored when it came to ask real music engineers on their thoughts.
Kevin Gray? Interviewed and quoted.
Bernie Grundman? The same.
Steve Hoffman? 🤣
Can you imagine? Industry bigwigs get to be included, but STeVE is only mentioned due to his connection with the SHite playpen.
One final thing – WaPo’s comment section for this article is hilarious. Butt-hurt “audiophiles” mixing it up with people laughing at them. (Almost seems like SC in many ways.)

How long until Steev claims he was interviewed but the writer didn’t agree with him or use his quotes? I am tempted to email the writer if I can find his address and as if STeVe was even a part of the research outside of using the forum as a source.

The article also mentioned Jamie Howarth who dared questioned Hoffman then got kicked out over there by Steve. Then Hoffman supposedly said it was a software problem and reinstated him. Ok sure.

I'm kind of an ignorant moron, so I want to ask: what part is the digital step? Digital master? I know fuck all about what's happening.

It sounds like the analog master is transferred to DSD and that’s used for the actual mastering.

Well, MofI claims to start with original master tapes. AIUI they are 'admitting' they make a digital (DSD) copy of those masters to work from. Which is perfectly sensible and fine as a workflow and will have zero audible effect*. Nothing to worry about unless you are a pearl clutching LP loving doucheblimp.
(*unless it's done completely incompetently, i.e., you are Tonmeister Hoffman)
(edit: I see COLA and I crossed poats to say the same thing)

This whole vinyl sounds better thing I’ve never understood. Sometimes I hear differences and stuff but I never once give it a thought where the music came from, digital or tape. Maybe I just enjoy the music too much to care how it was recorded? Maybe it’s all bullshit?
