The post you quoted of mine wasn't 'anti-Paulie'. The Paulie McCartney Band, since 1989. Ringo is clearly a better drummer. Ringo was adequate. Nothing more. In fact, they were all just adequate musicians, aside from Paulie who I would say was/is a very good bass player. Even Paulie can't do that any longer :laugh::laugh: Rick: It's too late Your Highness, it's being pressed on 36 different coloured vinyl, as we speak. Paulie: What about the 6 different CD versions, each with a different bonus track? Rick: Already manufactured, Sir. We discussed this last week when you requested we pull the release forward so as we don't clash with any of the bigger artists that will keep you off the top spot. Paulie: As you were. Yeah, you couldn't accuse Paulie of that kind of behaviour  Why the caveat? Why not be graceful? If Paulie or Bongo were now breaking these records under the same criteria, you'd be telling us how nothing has changed since The B***les ruled the world. Paulie is octogenarian now :shake: I'd rather put out a BBQ with my face than listen to ES. So you've changed the parameters of the 'scoring' to allow solo Paulie [:biglaugh:] but also believe any 'Feat.' credits shouldn't count from Drake's catalogue  Remember, Paulie got there first with proto hip-hop, proto electronia, proto trip-hop etc. Just listen to McCartney II. Can I ask why do people refer to McCartney as 'Paulie'? Is it homophobia, or sexism? That making his name feminine is some kind of insult? Not cool. I don't know how to respond to this politely. If you have an issue with me, tell me directly. Don't be so cowardly about it lol I asked you a simple question, why do you call McCartney 'Paulie' in almost every post. You could always answer rather than get offended.

What's the deal with McCartney II? That's got to be trolling, hasn't it? I thought electronica was being made as early as the 1950s. Where on earth is the trip-hop? There's nothing revolutionary about that album. Even in the relative mainstream Trans Europe Express pre-dates it on any claims it can make for significant musical influence.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. McCartney II revolutionized music. When Ralph Hütter heard Temporary Secretary he pulled his car over to the side of the road. It made him so depressed he abandoned the masterpiece he was working on, Lächeln.

As far as the SHites are concerned, only music produced by members of the Beatles is true music. Yesterday, I gave McCartney II (and its bonus tracks) a listen for the first time in ages. When “Secret Friend” was on, I had flashback to the stuff Raymond Scott was doing at Manhattan Research Inc. back in the fifties and sixties. So, yeah, McCartney II is not cutting edge. It’s just the noodlings of a bored musician trying yet another DIY project at home. (I enjoy some it the album, but hearing it once a decade is sufficient.)

I can't find the quote right now but McCartney mentioned somewhere that he regretted making Secret Friend so long because it took so long to do each overdub.
