I had no idea Now Playing was such a popular album title.

I saw this new series of Warner/Rhino vinyl reissues which looks like the modern LP equivalent of generic midline “best of” CDs major labels crank out, and Biggie Smalls aside, most of the choices look like they were taken from online poll highjacked by SHiTes. Looks like the vinyl selection at Target.

Why do they even bother? Huge fans spent years of their lives working on this Four Seasons Ultimate Collection, only to have it greeted with the usual bitching and pictures of waveforms. At one point it was $560. The price has plummeted as retailers try to shed copies. Now:

I’ve been reading the BSN thread. I daren’t look at Hoffman. Have these tits ever considered that the late 1980s remixes that “cut off at 11dB” (I think he means KHz) do so because they were created using primitive digital samplers which sampled at 22.05KHz? In other words, they’ve always sounded like that. No. Of course they haven’t. Why do they even bother? I've made a CDR of every CD I own as soon as I get it and put the CDR in the jewel box with the original CD...does no harm to it. I only play the copy of the CDR and never use the original again unless I have to rip and burn it again for some reason. So yes, I have a CDR exact copy (made with EAC) of all 1500+ CDs with no issues at all!

I just don't understand why some people think like this, I can't relate. Almost every point he makes can be shot down.
"Streaming is and will not be my choice. I prefer quality, slow experience with music, full concentration, building my own physical library, not being connected while engaged in music, discivering music and building my taste my own way and not through semi-randomness and engaging with algorithms, having artists get decent treatment, not supporting the modern capitalist dream of getting users on "subscription" and heteronomous dependence to everything without owning anything (simultaneously promoting it as an "enlightened", more "minimal" and "less materialistic" way if life).
But for the vast majority streaming is and will be the future. After all, laziness, convenience, minimization if having to think and/or engage in things with concentration, cheapness are what rule our lived experience nowadays. Personally, I can't stand streaming."

They didn't seem to mind being spoon-fed songs they had no control in choosing back in their teens.

I don't get it either. I'm good with both owning physical product and streaming.

Who cares whether you own physical media or stream? Enjoy the music. But so many over there just can't.

The latest news reports are of people having streaming fatigue, with physical sales having an increase! This is music to my ears. Always felt streaming is a farce with chart statistics.

I can’t get over the ones who say they can’t concentrate on the music unless they’re listening to physical formats.

It’s typically miserable people who think buying an object somehow equals happiness.
