I agree. And for N&T, to me, a 12" EP (45rpm) makes more sense. Bigger artwork. Higher-quality vinyl. This is a special release, the final new Beatles song! Give us an insert with John's hand-written lyrics (if they exist). Put the three reunion tracks on Side A, and 3 previously unreleased outtakes on Side B. 12" makes space for Apple to offer something for everyone on the N&T "single."

Great post! Personally I still think a 1CD/2LP companion to an expanded 1 album makes more sense (and it would be less discs for casuals to commit to) as a home for Now and Then, Free as a Bird and Real Love. The Beatles 1 (Now and Then Edition) in 2CD and 4LP configurations with the Avedon prints, a poster and various color vinyl options, would sell so well, and make more sense for streaming numbers, imho, because the 1 brand is a monster seller for the Beatles.

You know, we ridiculed the Shites for getting all worked up over a Stones album that nobody's heard one note from, but I have to admit that, even before its official announcement, I already hate this Beatles album.

Yep, and Nov 24 is Black Friday, a huge shopping weekend, as well as RSD Black Friday which gets lots of people into record stores. The Beatles could release these on 11/24 even without officially offering a Record Store Day variant/exclusive or anything, and still sell more physical copies on that date than they would on 11/17 or 12/1. 11/24 also allows for a month's time after Swift's 1989, and makes sense for an announcement in early Oct just prior to Ringo's EP street date. I think that's our date!

These people are like children with these fantasies. Hard to believe they're all 50-70 years old. Trying to imagine my grandpa foaming at the mouth over some Hank Williams fan fiction. It doesn't compute. It's too far off the rails on a crazy train.

The piss I took at 3 AM made a bigger splash than this stupid song will. These guys are so insular. The Beatard vacuum is its own lovely little planet where everything is rosie and peachy and everyone loves their little band.

Some of these guys when they were infants had to have been surprise-dropped on their heads.

Now they’re convinced it’s cancelled. They have zero proof either way, coming out, or cancelled.
Absolute loons.

Of course, those articles will all be by those lame ass "classic rock fan" websites that are spoon fed to boomers via facebook and google alerts. We've already seen what will happen, more or less, with the Dolly Parton Let It Be release. It will look like a big deal but only to these fucknuts who don't realize that all this shit is pushed on them because they've googled "beatles" seventeen thousand times.

would be excited even if Paul was covering Now and Then, because Paul performing a John song is interesting in and of itself, but the fact that technology is allowing Paul and Ringo to pull off all four performing on the track, and John and Paul's vocals blending together again, and that they liked it enough to add strings and new bass and drum overdubs recently is really cool, imho. Especially for a track called Now & Then with the lyrics we know of! It's some kind of Beatles cosmic magic dust that it all worked out this way that this is the final track, and the lyrics are actually about missing someone and time passing? Paul and Ringo are old men and still here, missing John and George....The Beatles magic is the only way to explain this coincidence. It was meant to be this way. The Beatles just have a way of pulling this stuff off, and I think the sentiment of the song hits harder now in 2023 than it would have in 1995. I'm thankful. I'm keeping my expectations in check for the finished results, but conceptually, I'm excited that this was done, and hope we get not just the song but the full story behind its creation.

This might be the dumbest post yet. It's from the Johnny Moondog clown:
"any news here ? 295 pages & nothin ? what do you guys talk about"
He posts in that thread all the time!! He's constantly there so he knows there isn't any news and since he's one of the most active in the thread, he knows what they talk about!
Reading that just makes me want to scream. How can anyone be that stupid?
