I bought the single. I have no means to play it. But I can say I bought a Beatles single when it was brand new.

This is one of you having a laugh, right? New thread asking for advice on buying his first turntable. I'll be buying my first turntable in a couple of months and so I went into a hi-fi store to get some recommendations. I said my budget was $2000 to $3000 max (AUD) and told him I need something that can do mono and 45rpm. I primarily listen to classic rock and most of my collection consists of The Beatles and Pink Floyd. I wasn't expecting to get some speakers just yet as I primarily do my listening through headphones (Fostex TH610s) but definitely want to down the road, but he recommended a couple. The guy I talked to was a bunch of help and clearly knew what he was talking about, but I just thought I'd get a "second" opinion here as I have little knowledge about speakers, turntables, amps, etc. Here's what he recommended: -Project Essential III OM10 (Turntable) -Denon PMA-900HNE (Pre-amp) -ES20 or ES15 speakers -Kordz pro 3 twin rca cable The store was West Coast Hi-Fi. What do you reckon? Solid kit? It came down to $2850 overall, but I was considering maybe opting for a higher quality turntable and foregoing the speakers for now if you guys think it's worth it? Or is the Essential III a good pick? I just want to make sure it's worth it as I'm hoping to keep onto all of these for a long time. Will these do my 2014 Sgt. Pepper's in mono justice? My 2012 rhino Forever Changes? My 2014 Peach Maggot Brain? I do all of my listening through TH610s plugged into an iDSD Black Label Nano with 320kbph MP3 needledrops of my favourite albums. Will it at least sound better than that?
