Incredible! In the aftermath of this tragedy, STeVE is out in the dark with his dogs, as naked as he can tastefully be, awestruck by the sublime wonder of our vast universe. But don't forget, he also had an OLYMPIC size swimming pool and his good gal Susan (an art designer!) Her home was destroyed but fear not, "we got through it."

So there I am, getting ready to pitch against San Francisco in game three of the 1989 world series, when suddenly, at 5:04, the whole stadium starts to shake. I run over to Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco and tell them to hold my mitt while I run up and let Al Michaels and Tim McCarver know what happened. Then channel 7 in Oakland had me do live coverage all night (I used to hang around TV studios all the time and they hired me. They were all nice and real pros).

Papa, has it been 30 years? #menopausaloldliar
I can remember onl y one good thing that happened. After the initial 6.7 quake, standing in the middle of ritzy Archwood St. in the dark, holding my balls (I call them Scruffy and Tatters), one under each neck wattle, 4:32 AM. I was in my naked turkey-necked glory but who cared? I looked up and saw.....The Milky Way. Not your Milky Way. You have to be rich to see this one. No lights anywhere in Los Angeles except on my Vespa and the night sky was amazing. I saw shooting stars, a zeppelin, birds, planes, swamp gas, John Glenn, everything. I am consumed in lies. Other than that, it sucked for the peasants. Most of the Perrier water was gone in our 2x Ozempic size neck vulva-shaped swimming pool. What was left we used for cooking the dogs for the next few days. No power but for some reason the housekeeper remained to wipe my butt and I was OK. My posh office at DCC Redundant Compact Classics in fancy Northridge was trashed. Yikes! My old neighborhood in Sherman Oaks was pretty well shit. My house in West Hills was spared from ellipsis's.. My girlfriend du jour at the time (bippy-betting Ruth Buzzi) had her second floor condom in Sherman Oaks end up right on the first floor. Heh. Just went sailing down, her piano, heart-shaped bed (with her and John Oteri's brother in it) housekeeper and all. Must have been a ellipsis-less fright for her.. Not a great memory but we got through it, Pal. Not that you care. I thought you were my real friends..
