Well, I suppose it does ease the pain of laying down $69,99 for a fucking Peter, Paul and Mary Cee Dee.

They sure are pushing those 'edition numbers'. You'd think an audiophile would be too smart for that wouldn't you? Or a nine-year-old?

I am patiently waiting for the next "Target LP". That lasted for one release.

LP's I kinda almost get with the whole low number = hot stamper mumbo jumbo (not that I care, I but I least understand the snake oil on that one).
But CD's? Aren't they always going to be bit-for-bit perfect or does science not exist on that web site? Do they sell those green pens as well?

Not only do bit-identical Cee Dees sound different (especially if they're from Japan) but multiple identical MFSL disks (sic) need to be searched through to find the really real best one. This neat little exercise ensures that Dave (Ass With Ears™) always has the most bestest-sounding copy. Please fill out your equipment profile.

That's Bob Wynne, dude. Audio Fidelity's award winning* graphic designer. His genius was an often discussed topic on the old SC.
* Well, at least that's what Marshall claims.

Just look at that font. The golden eared ones have no visual sense at all! That fucking terrible 'Barry White' promo vid, John Lee Hooker ceedee, and this...Cheapskates and all... here's the royalty free original. At the old Stereo Central, there was a thread that looked at all the bad art put out by AF, as well as the original sources stolen from used. (Nice bit of detective work!) For real laughs, clicking on those drop-down price boxes. Marsha often tries to squeeze an extra $50 out of the fools who want lower numbers printed on their CD sleeves. What an extreme shit show that entire outfit is... Update: Flat Transfer just made reference to that old thread (and Bob Wynne, whose name I'd forgotten.)

Sadly, this (below) seems to be the the only surviving evidence of the former site. All those years of Hoffa commentary gone! Any idea how many people from there are on here? Link

I notice that they're still saying the Simon & Garfunkel material came from the original masters.

They probably came from the original safety DATs, so they're half right.

That drop-down panel looks like the porous, overpriced WYSIWYG-template crap that was scrapped ages ago. Bob Wynne must have a massivekewl vintage warez CeeDee stash.
At least he deserves credit for AF's unique 'pathetic use' doctrine for copyright exemption.
