Woody Allen Memoir Dropped by Hachette After Staff Walk-OutShame on all those self-righteous cowards who "walked out": they're judging a man guilty when there's no evidence, when there has been no trial, and when the accusers are less believable, at face value, than the accused. They should’ve been given an ultimatum to return to their jobs or be fired. It’s not as if it would be hard to replace them. I've never been a fan of Ronan Farrow. I think he's extremely overrated, and the more I look at him, the angrier I get. People like him are why we don't have due process anymore. Let this be known, ladies and gentlemen. He's supposedly credible, because he has a Pulitzer Prize. Well, you know who also has a Pulitzer Prize? David J. Garrow, another hack. A Pulitzer doesn't mean squat. I can't wait for that "era" to end. And it will too, it's just that in the meantime careers will have been ruined -- and works of art that would have been cool to have -- such as this Woody memoir -- will be lost for those of us who are not puritanical sheep. Hey when you’re in an office full of hot Ivy League chicks you’re trying to make, you bet you’re going to join hands as a sensitive male and walk out! Why they are cowards? I thought they are just brain washed idiots. Well, that's the thing. In this day and age, anyone can claim they were raped and it is automatically heard and believed, with no questioning. In my opinion, that's dangerous. They're cowards in the sense that they think they're courageous and taking a stand when it's always for causes where they risk nothing. None of those employees would have walked out in favor of an unpopular, untrendy cause. So no matter what injustices or craziness happen under the heading "Me Too", one has to shut up and take it if one is male? No thanks. That's a very biased perspective, I'm sorry. TheCut has a very well-known biased agenda. You can hardly be found to have lied when it's assumed of course you wouldn't lie. Beside, the very idea that you can guess a given accused's culpability on statistics about previous similar accusations directed at other people from the same group is so contrary to basic justice that if it were applied, you could just assume that any, say, young black kid from the ghetto who's accused of peddling drugs is necessarily guilty. Would the Hachette employees like THAT inference? ...I've long been thinking of starting a Woody thread here. Now, before seeing this thread, reading of Hatchette's dropping him made want me want to, now - But I've been beaten! Ah shewwt:cry:. So, carry on......... Bluntly, his near-banning is most based on the accusation that he molested his daughter. (The relationship with Soon-Yi is obviously a factor too.) Charged were not pressed. Now - very carefully - the existence of the McMartin case and other " Satanic panic " false claims of child molestation show that it is possible to even convince someone that something has happened when it has not. Even with the person who presses the child to think that something has happened when it has not thinking that they are doing a good/true thing. This certainly does not mean that covered-up molestations do not happen! Some people, from my reading of the Wikipedia piece on arguments for Allen's innocence, have come up with believable arguments for his not guilty-ness. Including, yes, questions about Mia's credibility - and performance as a mother. I DON'T KNOW. Presumably a bunch of Bryn Mawr and Sarah Lawrence graduates will be the new Roy Cohns/Madame LaFarges!:yikes: Isn't Soon-To well into her 40s? If she wanted a divorce, EVERY divorce lawyer in Scarsdale and Beverly Hills would TRAMPLE EACH OTHER to get her custom! Now, I'll drop this subject, as we can talk about something non-controversial - like the latest vault-scraping from a dead rock star -Michael Jackson, frixample:evil: !

Almost every single one of those fucks has obviously got some sort of sexual misconduct in their past that they feel very guilty about (about from Ghostworld, who's just a fucking prick). Maybe they're getting nervous?

The difference between Ghostworld and the rest of them is that Ghostworld doesn't feel guilty.

In an odd way SH.TV explains what I'm seeing during this election season online and off as well as anything I know of on the Internet. It is hypocritical if Mia Farrow to call out Woody Allen for molesting their daughter because she likes older men. We are definitely going to get what we deserve!

Looks like someone's finally gone too far (O RLY) and the thread's been killed.

I’m pretty sure the Gorms check on threads here to see which ones spark a reaction so they know which ones to delete as their moral compasses are shot.
