A tape of a unreleased Beatles 1963 jam session, done before Ringo joined, recorded at EMI studios, is now the centre of a legal battle, between The Emerick Family Estate and Universal Music Group. Also: “jam session”? There’s no way such a thing would have taken place, much less been recorded. They recorded with Paul Weller!

Now I'm really gonna be lost. I didn't even know what the Rutles was until I started at Hoofy's.

The Rutles offered some mild laughs but fuck, 50 years later and idiot-man leans in hard on their ancient trousers joke thing like it's gold, Jerry.
But I did think their song title "Your Mother Should Go" was pretty humorous.

Music mysteries you wish would be answered one day...I hope to one day learn the definitive answer to the following music mysteries: 1) Did Hendrix really record an albums worth of demos for a song cycle titled 'Black Gold'? 2) Does Marc Bolan actually play the wah guitar riff on Ike & Tina Turner's 'Nutbush City Limits'? 3) Did Dylan really record a late 60s unreleased song titled 'Church With No Upstairs'? I'd love to know the answer to those questions above. My instincts tell me: 1) maybe Hendrix did 2) yes sure sounds like Bolan 3) no that was misinformation amongst Dylan collectors... Are there other mysteries that have entered music folklore, being mentioned in books and magazines but never solved? What happened to Funk #1-47? Did he stay or did he go? God bless the child that's got his own....what? Who put the bomp in the bomp buh bomp buh bomp? Who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong? Who put the bop in the bop shoo bop shoo bop? Who put the dip in the dip dee dip dee dip? Was it one person, or more than one? Where they operating independently or colluding? Regardless of who they were, I would like to shake their respective hand(s). They made my baby fall in love with me. Also, it's been over 20 years and we still don't know who was responsible for letting the dogs out... What led to Paul's death in the late 60s and why his imposter continues to get away with putting out so much crappy music in his name... What is it that Meatloaf won't do? I wish someone would tell me what 'Diddy Wah Diddy' means. Will we ever get that sophomore release from Chris Gaines? I have a membership at my local YMCA where I can lift weights, use the treadmill, swim, take yoga classes. What kind of fun are they talking about? What if the Hokey Pokey REALLY IS what it's all about? Seriously, at this point which one really is Pink? Is Charlie still riding on the MTA? If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true? Why's everybody always pickin' on Charlie Brown? Just because he's a clown who called the English teacher "Daddy O"? Who did shoot the deputy? Did Richard Marx really leave Mary safe and sound? I've actually thought that it was more an exclamation, blaming Cindy Lou Who. She was the one that let the dogs out. Who wrote the book of love? I don’t know where, but she takes me … there? Why does it hurt when I pee? (asking for Frank Zappa) --Geoff Does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care? If Jimmy cracked corn and I don’t care, why does he do it? Who was the last person to some weed with McCartney? What happens if 6 turns out to be 9? Was the guy who murdered the woman at the recording session for Ohio Players' "Love Rollercoaster" ever get apprehended. The way the band kept playing and singing after that woman screamed getting murdered the Ohio Players must've been some baaaaaaaaaad muthas! If, he were still alive today, John Lennon would be cancelled for being a literal wife beater, negligent father and having the sheer audacity to write and sing a song called "Working Class Hero" despite having never been working class himself. How is this a ”music mystery”? It's quite mysterious as it'd be interesting to see if he'd get a pass or not. This thread reads like a parody of the worst aspects of this forum. Which reindeer ran over grandma? Why is loving you a crime? Are you jail bait? Who left the cake out in the rain? Unsolved music mysteriesI've been a fan of the band Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown for a while. They're not an obscure group by any means, but they're not huge either and their history as a group is not well-documented, especially Tyler Bryant's pre-Shakedown days. There's been a longstanding rumor that Bryant played a show in Prague in the mid-2000's when he was just a kid. But given the fact that Bryant came from a lower-middle-class family in rural Texas it seems implausible that he would be able to afford to perform overseas. It was speculated that the Prague show in question was a set at the "Prague International Blues Festival", but aside from a posting on a community blog reporting Bryant's supposed performance, there is virtually no evidence that such a concert ever took place. I even asked some longtime fans of Tyler from his old blues days and they came back with vague answers and no definitive proof. What are some other mysteries in music that remain unsolved? Why DON'T we do it in the road? Who stole Radiohead's guitars and drum set? Why did Bobbie Gentry leave the industry many years ago and totally vanish from the public eye, still to this day. Of course, that was her life and her perogative but quite unusual to have had such a major hit and basically not be heard from ever again after her initial fame, no oldies comeback tour, no media appearances, nothing. And what exactly did she and Billie Joe McAllister throw off the Tallahatchee Bridge? We know he wouldn't do *that*, but where precisely was Meatloaf's limit? Who Are You? Who, who, who, who? Why did they leave the cake out in the rain? Surely that would be the first thing you'd bring inside, or at least cover up. And what happened to the recipe? Who wrote the book of love? Yeah, well, who put the dong in the rama lama ding dong? Huh? Who was the father of Billie Jean's son? How Maroon 5 continue to thrive, despite nobody ever admitting to liking them. Whatever happened to the Transylvania Twist? Who did the deed with Billie Jean? How do they do the mail delivery Where The Streets Have No Name? I can solve one mystery. In Jailbreak, Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy sings, 'Tonight there's going to be a jailbreak, somewhere in this town." Could be wrong, but I think it might be taking place in the jail. Who knows where the time goes? And does anybody really know what time it is? Or Two Minutes To Midnight... Who threw the whiskey in the well? What was it that Knights in white sat in? God bless the child that's got his own what?

One of my dearest friends has gone missing and left a notehis girlfriend called me distraught, I’ve been with her and we have reported it to the police. I’m pretty frazzled but have been through this before. Any thoughts welcome. You say you've 'been with' his girlfriend? Maybe that's why he left? Hoping for a happy ending.

First announcement: Bruce Springsteen Celebrates the Sweet Sounds Of Rap Music On New Album “Only The Phat Survive,” Out November 3 On the heels of his hit soul-cover album “Only The Strong Survive” comes Bruce Springsteen’s newest studio album, a collection of 15 rap classics titled “Only The Phat Survive,” out from Columbia Records on Nov. 3. Featuring lead vocals by Springsteen, Only The Phat Survive celebrates rap music gems from the legendary catalogues of Ruthless Records, Rhyme Syndicate Productions, Def-Jam and many more. This 22nd studio album from Springsteen will also feature guest vocals by Flavor Flav and Ice Cube, as well as contributions from The Bomb Squad, and hard-core beats by Terminator X. Springsteen commented: “I wanted to make an album where I just rapped. And what better music to work with than the great American songbook of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s? I’ve taken my inspiration from Chuck D, King Adrock, Eazy E, Bushwick Bill, and Snoop Dog, among many others. I’ve tried to do justice to them all—and to the fabulous writers of this most-illin’ music. My goal is for the modern audience to experience its beauty and joy, just as I have since I first heard it. I hope you love listening to these jams as much as I loved making them.” Only The Phat Survive was tracked at Chung King Studios in New York City, produced by Rick Rubin, engineered by Dr. Dre and executive produced by Jon Landau. Springsteen is currently on tour with the legendary E Street Band, which to date has sold more than 1.6 million tickets across the United States and Europe. Only The Phat Survive track list: 1. Posse in Effect 2. Sophisticated Bitch feat. Flavor Flav 3. Mind Of a Lunatic 4. Straight Out of Asbury Park 5. Girls, L.G.B.N.A.F. 6. Gin And Juice 7. Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia) 8. Jump Around 9. Funky Cold Medina 10. A Letter To The New York Post 11. Mama Said Knock You Out 12. It Was a Good Day feat. Ice Cube 13. Mind Playing Tricks on Me 14. Peter Piper 15. Dopeman The rumour mill states that the Wombles have reformed and have a cover version of Cleanup Time ready to go. The BBC News have already booked Great Uncle Bulgaria for a promo interview on the breakfast news on Tuesday. It is all getting very complicated.
