I was only a lurker back in the days of the old SCTV, but giving Brad a pass reminds me of simpler times. Why pick on a harmless dude for starting 10,000 Amy Grant threads? But the Big Brad O isn't just starting Amt Grant threads anymore. The White male Boomer id runs amuck there, and there is nothing innocent in piating about the evil Jews using JC Superstar to further explain Jesus. Brad Olson was also the one who rushed to create the RIP thread and delivered a touching eulogy for Jonathan David Brown who "just went home to be with Jesus". He only overlooked the small incident in which the white supremacy group Brown was a part of had done a drive-by shooting of a Jewish synagogue in Nashville, with Brown helping the gunner escape the cops, giving him money, hiding him in his farm for weeks, and even doing a paint job on the guy's car to change the color. I won't talk about the personal preferences by Steve about ass-kissers, but II think that the main target for the site is the traders, particularly the ones in the hardware section, as the data collected bout them are the most valuable. You get a lot of right-wing assholes there, in the jh901 mould but slightly less caricatural and irritable. Some would complain or even leave if they had to endure expression of political views that are not identical to theirs. That's why the Gorts will sanitize any thread that may offend or trigger them. And, as an extra, they have the illusion of having a fair and balanced debate, as there's even a black guy with controversial views on music who serves as an accurate representation of the whole African-American community.
"Whitepower" Brad Olson is a different situation. He has his "own thing", and he will start numerous threads about very specific genres of music, and get very little traffic, particularly among liberals, who just don't give a shit about this CCM crap. He will just get people into these very same niches. Besides, when he posts offensive stuff, they can play the autism card to excuse the whole situation, so they won't check his posts. That may explain why he was able to drop antisemitic claims or refer to a political website, without anybody complaining, or even noticing it, until you saw it.
