My dad was a reporter for one of the local papers and when the Beatles came to town, he was at the airport when they arrived for the press conference. He got to ask George one question and as he was replying, some of the girls got through the barricade and started running towards the Beatles (and him in the other reporters).
The Beatles and their entourage got out of there fast, but my dad and the other media there got stuck with all the fans that broke through. He said it was a little bit scary for a bit....

Had no idea what Sweet Water is, but it appears to be some expensive contraption to take noise out of vinyl and convert it to digital.
All that hassle when you can just stream.
I like throwing vinyl on occasionally but this is hardly a great sales pitch for it.

I have a Sweet Vinyl - SugarCube SC-1 Mini and it works supernaturally well. Seriously. Unlistenable scratchy crackly vinyl sounds amazing without "breathing" or weird artifacts. It adds nothing weird to the listening experience. The soundstage and audio quality are at worst barely altered, if at all. Yeah it was not cheap. $1500. They're never in stock. I takes about a minute to boot up when you turn it on. There is a tiny split-second lag between what the turntable is tracking and what you hear. It has never been a issue to me.

I have one too and it is pretty amazing. I’m digitizing some high dollar vinyl to sell and want it done right.

I bought a digital device so my vinyls sound more digital.

Pop 'n' click-free Dave Clark Five deep cuts, come to Butthead. C0LA, I know we butt heads sometimes (see what I did there?) but I actually do love playing my stoopid old cheesy "As advertised on TV" K-Tel collections through this device. I have a bunch. I find them at Half Price Books so cheap, often in OK shape. They sound swell de-crackled. I played this one pop 'n' click-free the other day. I know, I'm old. I played some Coltrane afterwards to level out my blood sugar. Fun fact: I'll be 70 next week if I don't die.

I found some great tracks on some 80s equivalents in the 12 months. I was given a couple of batches of records and checked out the stuff that had passed me by on the 80s comps. For example:

I listened to a couple songs from this, and I don't know what they're talking about. I suppose that if they buy the vinyl record the bass may be rolled off enough that it looks more dynamic on a wav graph. That would be exciting, I guess!

I only listen to Diana Krall and Patricia Barber now. Everything else makes my ears, brain and mangina bleed.

You know I was joking, right? If it works as advertised, then great. I do feel that $1500 is steep just for some real-time DSP, but I don't have to buy it if I don't want to. I do enjoy the SHites throwing a tantrum over this thing because they think that the precious analog signal is now "compromised." It is expensive. Fuck the SHites.
