Absolutely, I'm still pissed that all the record labels on earth destroyed their master tapes as soon as streaming started.

Am I the only old guy who loves streaming? I listened to about 3-4 different things today with just a few clicks. It was beautiful. Went from Steven Wilson to Madonna’s Ray Of Light to The Police…..

They’re all jizzing their pants because Bob Dylan’s new interview says something about streaming making things too easy.
But they’re also saying how fake it is that he did the interview over email.

How dare those record companies make music more easily accessible to me! Just who in the hell do they think they are?

Dylan swings both ways regarding streaming. His grouchy, curmudgeon self is definitely biased against it (as anybody in their 80s is entitled to), but he acknowledges that he has been able to discover a lot of great music that he may have never been able to listen to otherwise.

I ripped over 3000 Dylan shows (yes, I'm THAT sad) and then my entire CD collection to a server I built (was a 12 month odyssey). Haven't played a CD in close to 10 years.
All that DIGITAL goodness right there.

Elon muskrat is a new member that is proving to be a real asshole to watch. Yet another one who refuses to accept that his beloved cee dees are irrelevant.

they get real mad about it They get/so mad about it that they lay down every last little bit of whataboutism they can pull from the air. No surprise that it’s a culture of narcissist personality disorder over there, considering the sociopath who the place is named after.

One imagines the increasing irrelevance and heyday long in one's rearview hits a little close to home with that crew.

More proof that they find solace in ‘objects’, and that the music is secondary. They have to have ‘stuff’ to comfort the misery of no satisfaction in their lives, versus having a lifetime of music available for $10 a month in lossless quality. The way they fight it is truly pathetic, especially when it’s disguised as ‘helping the artists’. Right, buying some ‘preferred mastering’ on a used CD benefits the artist…
