That thread is 565 pages. Seems fitting. The historic "Dark Star" from Rotterdam Civic Hall on May 11, 1972 is 47 minutes and 11 seconds, and they still managed to stretch out "Good Lovin'" to 12:30 in the same set... The thread is still modest in comparison to the wankfest over New, which is divided into twenty three (23!!!) parts, totaling about 900 pages. Deadheads have restraint...

I've honestly never heard more than three Grateful Dead songs. Not specific performances, but the songs themselves. Row Jimmy (via a cover version), Uncle John's Band (on some multi-artist soundtrack that I've played maybe twice in twenty years), and some half-arsed version of Dark Star (again on a soundtrack album).
I really do not see how any of it is anything more than mediocre noodling. 500+ pages?
